A Reverse Revolution
I think the term reverse revolution pretty much defines a situation in which the United States Government mutinies against We, The People for whom, according to the Constitution, the government works.
My case in point is the ongoing immigration kerfuffle.
To simplify what politicians tell us is a complex issue, it’s really quite simple; There are upwards of 12 million illegal aliens currently residing in the United States, most of them from Mexico. One reason they are here is that the government failed to do their job, over a long period of years, of securing our borders and enforcing immigration laws concerning those criminal aliens already here in any way that can be called anything but lackluster. However, that’s moot, what’s done is done and we are now paying the price in terms of legal U.S. citizens being displaced in employment markets by the under the table coolie wage crowd, by our tax money funding social services provided these felony trespassers, by copious criminal activities on the part of same, by quality of life degradation that devalues property in neighborhoods across America and by illegal laborers sending large portions of their untaxed incomes to their families back home, thereby taking hundreds of millions of dollars out of the U.S. economy rather than recirculating the money to keep the economy strong.
Most Americans want our southern border secured, the continuous influx of illegals halted and those already in the country deported and compelled to apply to enter, work in and achieve citizenship in the U.S. through legal means.
Most of our elected government officials, however, are pushing a different solution: Amnesty. Many label it under other names and provide transparently false justifications for doing so. This includes the bulk of the Democrat majority in Congress, a truly sickening number of their Republican colleagues and even the President.
Despite the majority of Americans giving a strong “thumbs down” to any version of amnesty, the government is intent upon going through with it. They are, in effect, and again, this includes President Bush, telling We, The People to go to hell.
Mutiny? Reverse revolution? We, The People no longer control the government, they have in effect established themselves, on a bipartisan basis, as rulers, rather than representatives of, the citizenry.
A column from 20 May by Mark Steyn pretty well describes, with that columnist/author’s famous wit, the whole enchilada of government intent.
In more recent days, President Bush himself has resorted to shameful rhetoric aimed at his detractors, including many who have been staunch supporters of both his political campaigns and most of his other policies.
“If you want to kill the bill, if you don’t want to do what’s right for America, you can pick one little aspect out of it, you can use it to frighten people.”
Right.
Washington Times Editor-In-Chief Wesley Prudin weighs in.
Peggy Noonan has written an OpEd piece, rather strongly worded, condemning George Bush for what she considers his sellout of his conservative base and the Republican Party on the issue, which can be read in a link from this excellent post by Old Soldier.
In my personal opinion, in this battle of the Reverse Revolution, the government, by sheer force of Congressional votes and Presidential support, is going to defeat We, The People, no matter the volume of telephone calls, emails and letters we flood their offices with.

I Just…
…have to share this one.
Three Clergymen and a Bear
A priest, a Pentecostal preacher, and a Rabbi all served as chaplains to the students of the University of Montana in Missoula. They would get together two or three times a week for coffee and to talk shop.
One day, someone made the comment that preaching to people isn’t really all that hard. A real challenge would be to preach to a bear. One thing led to another and they decided to do an experiment. They would all go out into the woods, find a bear, preach to it, and attempt to convert it. Seven days later they’re all together to discuss the experience.
Father Flannery, who has his arm in a sling, is on crutches, and has various bandages, goes first: “Well,” he says, “I went into the woods to find me a bear. And when I found him I began to read to him from the Catechism. Well, that bear wanted nothing to do with me and began to slap me around. So I quickly grabbed my holy water, sprinkled him and, Holy God, he became as gentle a lamb. The bishop is coming out next week to give him first communion and confirmation.”
Reverend Billy Bob spoke next. He was in a wheelchair, with an arm and both legs in casts, and an IV drip. In his best fire and brimstone oratory, he claimed, “WELL brothers, you KNOW that we don’t sprinkle! I went out and I FOUND me a bear. And then I began to read to my bear from God’s HOLY WORD! But that bear wanted nothing to do with me. So I took HOLD of him and we began to wrestle. We wrestled down one hill, UP another and DOWN another until we came to a creek. So I quick DUNKED him and BAPTIZED his hairy soul. And just like you said, he became as gentle as a lamb. We spent the rest of the day praising The Lord.”
They both looked down at the rabbi, who was lying in a hospital bed. He was in a body cast and traction with IV’s and monitors running in and out of him. He was in bad shape. The rabbi looks up and says, “Looking back on it, circumcision may not have been the best way to start.”

Teach Your Children…
…ah, yes, a four decades old, give or take a year, song recorded by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
I suppose it’s not all that unusual for different cultures to perceive different meanings for the same old song titles, as is noted here.
A televised graduation ceremony at a Palestinian kindergarten in Gaza shows little boys dressed in black masks, camouflage fatigues, carrying toy guns, and waving green Hamas flags.
The children vow that their most “lofty aspiration” is death for the sake of Allah.
Not “I wanna be a doctor”, “I wanna be President”, “I wanna be an astronaut”, “I wanna be a truck driver, just like my dad”, as children might reply, in civilized societies, to the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
The boys shout, “Allah Akbar” (Allah is great).
“Who is your role model?” the boys are asked. “The Prophet,” they respond.
“What is your path?”
“Jihad,” they shout.
“What is your most lofty aspiration?”
“Death for the sake of Allah.”
And so many ignorant morons buy into the “Religion of Peace” bit, championing the bloody cause these people purport to represent in their aggressions against Israel? Last I heard, the Jews over there, like human beings in most parts of the world, raise their children to be productive and successful, have families of their own and continue the family line into the future.
These so-called “Palestinian” animals, on the other hand, raise their children to die at the earliest possible opportunity, and not even as soldiers, but as murderers who take innocent people with them.
And these evil pig-monsters call us the Great Satan?

Before I Link A Seriously Must-Read…
…commentary by Norman Podhoretz {that’s right, Norman — back in New York, pronounced Nawmin}, I must remark upon the free time I now have to really spend some hours in the blogosphere. It’s great!
On the bummer side, having a lot more time to spend reading the comment sections of various other right thinking blogs often means getting to read comments by liberals, some sincere left thinkers, some genuinely misinformed portsiders and some simply trolls that haunt certain blogs to garner attention as they disagree with anything and everything the blogger and his/her regular commenters say, no matter what.
It’s only a bummer because one is reminded that there are millions of voters in this country whose views on important issues mirror those harbored by the mainstream media and the many liberals that infest Congress. No matter how much hard, in-your-face evidence is produced that refutes positions they endorse, these folks won’t stray an inch from the leftist party line.
They worship the man-made global warming myth, ready to throw their support behind completely unnecessary and useless measures that would deal our economy a devastating blow. While it would hurt as many of them as anyone else in the United States, it wouldn’t bother the rich folks like Al Gore who serve as the high priests of this most spectacular con in the history of the earth.
They utterly refuse to believe that there are Islamofascists who want to kill us, and deny that the War on Terror is anything more than a bumper sticker phrase. Regardless of all the terrorist attacks against Americans from Carter’s Teheran embassy adventure through 9/11 and the variety of terrorist ops that have more recently taken place in Europe and elsewhere around the world and the stated intentions of terrorist leaders like Osama bin Laden, these total simpletons and general purpose fools people just go about their lah-di-dah Utopian lives, assuming that there are no differences of any kind that can’t be solved by a diplomatic embrace with perhaps some capitulation thrown in.
They are so short sighted and moronic that they fail to see why amnesties awarded millions of illegal aliens would massively damage our economy (here I will sorrowfully include a shameful number of name-only Republicans and the President himself).
What a deal! They promote widespread poverty, a smashed economy and a suicide bomber on every corner.
Wait, a suicide bomber falls under the heading of “Applied Islam”.
Moving right along, the column by Norman Podhoretz I referred to above has to be the best and most insightful analysis, by far, of the ongoing Iran nuke kerfuffle I’ve read yet.
Although many persist in denying it, I continue to believe that what Sept 11, 2001, did was to plunge us headlong into nothing less than another world war. I call this new war World War IV, because I also believe that what is generally known as the Cold War was actually World War III, and that this one bears a closer resemblance to that great conflict than it does to World War II. Like the Cold War, as the military historian Eliot Cohen was the first to recognize, the one we are now in has ideological roots, pitting us against Islamofascism, yet another mutation of the totalitarian disease we defeated first in the shape of Nazism and fascism and then in the shape of communism; it is global in scope; it is being fought with a variety of weapons, not all of them military; and it is likely to go on for decades.
What follows from this way of looking at the last five years is that the military campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq cannot be understood if they are regarded as self-contained wars in their own right. Instead we have to see them as fronts or theaters that have been opened up in the early stages of a protracted global struggle. The same thing is true of Iran. As the currently main center of the Islamofascist ideology against which we have been fighting since 9/11, and as (according to the State Department’s latest annual report on the subject) the main sponsor of the terrorism that is Islamofascism’s weapon of choice, Iran too is a front in World War IV. Moreover, its effort to build a nuclear arsenal makes it the potentially most dangerous one of all.
The foregoing summary has been more than enough for an entire column, but constitutes merely the tip of an iceberg.
I’ll leave it to you folks to read the rest of the article, but I want to block quote something that should stand out to every reader as the perfect definition of the threat that Iran’s leaders present to the non-Muslim world.
…Nor are they inhibited by a love of country:
We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah. For patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land [Iran] burn. I say let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world.
These were the words of the Ayatollah Khomeini, who ruled Iran from 1979 to 1989, and there is no reason to suppose that his disciple Ahmadinejad feels any differently.
Ahmadmanjihad wants desperately to get his nukes in a row so he can Armaggedonize his way to glory in the annals of Islam, even if it means the vaporization of himself and his country.
Remember the intense footage and emotion charged reporting we saw on 11 September 2001 when we turned on our TVs en route to the coffee maker? Imagine turning on the TV one morning soon to an announcement that “approximately 6 hours ago, U.S. Stealth aircraft dropped nuclear cluster bombs on targets in Iran…” and seeing video of multiple mushroom clouds in the distance.
That could well happen….

Yeah, Just Thinking Again
It’s zero dark hundred hours and I, a night person as always, am listening to some Al Stewart, sipping cognac from my celebratory Sarkozy bottle of Courvoisier VSOP with Peet’s Italian Roast on the side. Yeah, there is a Peet’s Coffee here in Chicago, in a mall on West North in Old Town. I used to buy all my coffee at Peet’s when I lived in San Francisco, and was surprised — no — speechlessly delighted to run into one in the mall when I went there to get a couple of things at Best Buy. I hadn’t known Peet’s had any locations outside California. YAY!
At any rate, having considerably more freed up time, I’ve been able do something I profoundly enjoy doing: Spending more hours in the Blogosphere and more at my favorite blogs, following links to other blogs I’d never heard of… It’s a continuous series of discoveries and opportunities to pick up information that is all but unavailable in the mainstream media. That isn’t to say that the MSM is always innacurate, they do become quite informative when one of their components is describing, in as detailed an account as possible, any secret U.S. national security strategies or other secret projects that help prevent terrorist attacks against America and Americans, here and abroad, military or civilian. To act responsibly and patriotically would go against the fiber of their liberal sensibilities, and that will not change until the grim realities of today’s world arrive at the portals of their Utopian abodes and, unfortunately, the rest of our front doors as well. Rather than accept responsibility, they’ll follow standard proceedures and blame it all on George Bush. Hmmm, sort of like the refrain of the theme song to the film Ned Kelly, “Blame it on the Kellys, boys, blame it on the Kellys…”
Being a protection professional (semi-retired) and an eternal student in the area of identifying and decisively addressing security concerns, I tend to take a great interest in all informed opinions and statistical analyses related to my field that I run across, as I expect most people do in their own areas of interest, which is why this article that arrived in my inbox earlier, a bit lengthy but a recommended read, grabbed my full attention.
We receive occasional reports from the Department of Homeland Security and from the Bureau regarding terrorist cells operating in America. The reason the administration created DHS, purportedly, was to prevent terrorism on our soil, and to that end they were given authority over all of our federal security agencies, then bloated with responsible charge of non-related issues like disaster management.
According to the TRAC report, very few arrests, prosecutions and convictions of terrorism related suspects (less than the proverbial drop in the bucket) have been executed since DHS was formed, while the lion’s share, by far, of Homeland Security’s activity lay in immigration venues.
While the Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches of government and the MSM force feed WE, THE PEOPLE meaningless and inaccurate platitudes promoting copious illegal immigration, amnesty and their by-products, all of which pose potentially disasterous threats to the economy and quality of life in America, and I will presume somewhat by adding the future of this nation as we know it to the list of likely casualties telling bald faced lies in the name of Uncle Sam {remember him?} working hand-over-fist to secure our borders (mostly the southern one, go figure).
With decent personnel and logistics budgets and accessing a little old fashioned inter-agency cooperation, Immigration could have dealt with that. Why was it necessary to place them under a higher authority?
Immigration related crime: Again, interagency cooperation, a reasonable operating budget, the lead agencies varying between FBI, DEA, INS, the Coast Guard, etc… Why pull them all under the umbrella of one overstuffed, underfunded government beauracracy?
Disaster Management? How did Hurricane Katrina become the red-headed stepchild of DHS? They should have been restricted to protecting the country from terrorism, not to also be fed crow over the tragic events brought about by an unforeseeable, naturally generated disaster.
But why, then, is there a DHS, anyway, instead of a well funded atmosphere of interagency cooperation? They sure as hell don’t seem to be producing any tangible results in the terrorism sector (acknowledging that there are operations and results that are necessarily kept secret, but given the tiny speck on the chart that represents anti-terrorist successes, it’s highly unlikely that the under-the-table stuff could have effected the statistics that voluminously).
I therefore find it somewhat alarming that such an entity as DHS even exists within our government. I would feel a bit more comfortable having our security agencies operating as individual organizations and, as I’ve said, cooperating.
Nope, not paranoia, just an observation, but one that could lead to quite a few scenarios, depending upon who is leading the nation, some of which we might not like…

A Bitter, Bitter…
…Cindy Sheehan is calling it quits.
Cindy Sheehan says she is resigning as the “face” of the American anti-war movement.
In a letter posted on a liberal website Monday, Sheehan complained about the smears and hatred directed at her by liberals since she renounced her ties to the Democratic Party.
“Being called an ‘attention whore’ and being told ‘good riddance’ are some of the more milder rebukes [sic],” Sheehan wrote in a long letter posted on the DailyKos blog.
“I have come to some heartbreaking conclusions this Memorial Day Morning,” Sheehan wrote.
She said she has reluctantly concluded that “I was the darling of the so-called left as long as I limited my protests to George Bush and the Republican Party.”
Sheehan also noted that while conservatives “slandered and libeled” her as a “tool of the Democratic Party,” liberals did the same thing — “when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I help the Republican Party.”
In other words, as many of us have said all along, the Democrats used her for as long as they figured she was an asset to their propaganda aparat, then tossed her aside like a broken toy.
Sheehan also described the toll on her personal life:
“I have sacrificed a 29 year marriage and have traveled for extended periods of time away from Casey’s brother and sisters and my health has suffered and my hospital bills from last summer (when I almost died) are in collection because I have used all my energy trying to stop this country from slaughtering innocent human beings. I have been called every despicable name that small minds can think of and have had my life threatened many times.”
She said the “most devastating conclusion” she reached is that her son Casey, who died in Iraq, “did indeed die for nothing.”
“Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives. It is so painful to me to know that I bought into this system for so many years and Casey paid the price for that allegiance. I failed my boy and that hurts the most.”
Yeah, bitter, bitter, bitter. Learned about today’s Democrats the hard way, didn’t she? Also a few things about the fruits of committing treason. And you didn’t fail your boy, Cindy. You defecated on your son’s ultimate sacrifice for his country, and you dishonored this nation every way possible. Now drag your sorry ass home and live with it.
Sheehan also criticized the “peace movement,” which she said “often puts personal egos above peace and human life.
“This group won’t work with that group,” she wrote. “[H]e won’t attend an event if she is going to be there; and why does Cindy Sheehan get all the attention anyway? It is hard to work for peace when the very movement that is named after it has so many divisions.”
Sheehan is a co-founder of the anti-war organization Gold Star Families for Peace, and for two years, she has campaigned for the impeachment and conviction of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. But not any more:
“I am going to take whatever I have left and go home,” Sheehan wrote on Monday.
You do that, Cindy.
“I am going to go home and be a mother to my surviving children and try to regain some of what I have lost. I will try to maintain and nurture some very positive relationships that I have found in the journey that I was forced into when Casey died and try to repair some of the ones that have fallen apart since I began this single-minded crusade to try and change a paradigm that is now, I am afraid, carved in immovable, unbendable and rigidly mendacious marble.”
Sheehan said Camp Casey in Crawford, Tex., is for sale. “I will consider any reasonable offer,” she wrote.
Maybe I can help you, Cindy. Got change for a twenty?

We Are Being…
…so short-changed by the mainstream media in almost every area that can be equated with politics, but none so much as our involvement in Iraq.
They deny that we’re fighting an enemy there, peddling a story of pure civil war in which U.S. servicemen are dropping like flies, the Iraqis want us out of there, Iraqi civilian deaths at the hands of terrorists are 100% our fault, etc, etc.
They ignore every positive event that occurs over there.
They make an instant buffet of the slightest allegation that any U.S. troops have committed a wrongdoing, slandering the troops in the most extreme ways before any investigation has even begun.
Since the majority of Americans count on the MSM to deliver them accurate and complete news, the propaganda they actually receive gives them leftward slanted and highly inaccurate reports of the state of affairs in Iraq, and this is the information upon which they rely when it comes time to vote.
The latest example?
Water boarding, keeping interrogation subjects in uncomfortable positions, other techniques that do no physical damage to said subjects, the “plight” of captured terrorists at GITMO, which the left has compared with gulags, concentration camps and the killing fields of the Pol Pot regime, and the embarrassment to which still other jihadi murderers were subjected at Abu Graibh commanded a lengthy and aggressive crusade by the mainstream media, yet graphic pictures of fiendish tortures from a captured al-Qaeda interrogation manual and of the tools of the trade don’t even warrant honorable mention from the MSM. Whose side are they on, again?
Since the left would have the American people believe that there is no al-Qaeda activity in Iraq (that would indicate that we actually have an enemy to fight in Iraq), they ignore other stories that place al-Qaeda in the country.
The mainstream media is doing an outstanding job as a propaganda tool for the left. They are also a discerning lot — the only rank and file soldiers and Marines we ever hear from on that quarter seem to be the scarce few they can find who are against the war. Otherwise, most so-called liberal intellectuals will tell you that the folks who are over there fighting have been duped by Bush & Cheney and don’t know what they’re talking about when they support their mission in Iraq. They ignore the large numbers of volunteers who stick around for a second tour, they ignore our troops’ contributions to the betterment of education, lifestyles and infrastructure in Iraq, and the progress they’ve made in training Iraqi police and military personnel to eventually take over all law enforcement and national security duties. They ignore the courage and spirit of the Iraqi people who turned out twelve million strong to vote in a democratic government. They ignore the success of the post Saddam stock market, the copious publications of the burgeoning free press…
…yet when an American soldier is killed, they crow gleefully and shout about it from the rooftops, adding the casualty to their one-sided scorecard. If a U.S. military unit waxes thirty five terrorists, it is: 35 Dead in U.S. Firefight rather than Marines Kill 35 Terrorists.
Over at And Rightly So, Civil Truth has posted a lengthy but well worth the read compilation of beliefs on the war and U.S. politics by a man who not only survived the destruction of 9/11, but a full tour as a Marine in Iraq as well.
Although I haven’t been what one would term “pro-draft”, the writer makes some convincing points in favor of a draft that have me reevaluating my point of view on that score, and other than his choices for President in 2008, I largely agree with most of what he has to say.
President Bush’s veto of the pork-ridden, cut & run, head for the tall timber, tails between our legs, whimpering surrender redeployment deadlined Congressional rendering evidently backed the Democrats far enough into a corner that they were forced to submit a much more sane and acceptable bill.
Of course, this is only a brief respite from the sabotage tactics crowd over on the port side and their mainstream media hacks, those tenaciously anti-American scumbags progressive souls, to borrow a line from a governor I once successfully voted for, “will be bock!”

These Folks Have Now Surpassed…
…tedious in their efforts to “interest” society in their menu of micromanagement.
Of whom do I speak?
The portside media, researchers who are probably compensated, in large part, by grants financed by our tax dollars and assorted blank-minded, modern flower children who need a cause, any cause will do as long as it isn’t in any way conservative.
The people who feel it is their mandate from On-High to tell the rest of us what we can and can’t eat, the more enterprising among whom will probably soon be selling Trans-fat Credits.
The usual suspects, liberals from the Land Of The Lotus Eaters (The Odyssey) whose ambitions include snatching meat from the jaws of human carnivores and spooning yogurt into our mouths in its place.
The folks who now deem attending a good, old fashioned backyard barbecue a dangerous risk.
While my own inclination is to tell such critters to mind their own business, that what I choose to eat is my affair, I’ve had liberals tell me that the reason these people are so aggressive about their beliefs is that they are concerned that “unhealthy eaters” will one day cost taxpayers a lot of money on health care.
“Since when,” goes my stock reply, “did liberals give a flying f–k about spending the taxpayers’ money on social services related issues? You guys even endorse spending our money on illegal aliens!”
The truth is, American liberals are quite sure, and with good reason, that their efforts to trump our present form of government with socialism are succeeding. Thinking liberals are actually looking past their initial political victories at the practicalities to follow: Their social programs will cost the U.S. taxpayer dearly, and they need to find ways to cut costs, one being to put the proletariat on a diet of tofu and rice, unsweetened green tea and spring water to keep them healthy.
This program would never work for me, I was born by Occident and could never Orient myself to such a diet.
Of course, during an exchange of ideas with the flower kids who have long enjoyed desirable sustenance therein, I understand: There are benefits to be had from consuming a lot of tofu.
Indeed.
I recall an afternoon about three years ago, at an IHOP in rural Illinois, when the waitress informed me that they could not, by law, serve me a rare cheeseburger. I always order/cook my steaks and burgers rare (except prime rib, which I do medium), and requested a visit from the manager. After some debate, I explained, “It’s not how long you cook something that kills bacteria, it’s how hot you cook it.” He finally agreed on condition that “no matter what happens”, I would tell nobody that I’d been served a rare burger under his auspices. He was from India, somewhat recently to judge by his accent, and if he ever returns to the old country he’ll be a superb candidate for Bangalorian telephone Tech Support. He’d undoubtedly make a great Fred, or a passable Bill (Beel?). I only mention this because our conversation would have made an outstanding comedy skit based largely on his accent.
Relax, there’s no bigotry here, just a paucity of political correctness. I grew up in a Jewish family wherein one of our favorite holiday dinner table (or Passover seder) customs was sharing the most irreverant-but-funny Jewish jokes we’d run across. Even my grandmother, who played a puritanical role in the family, shared jokes gleefully, and hers were some of the most risque, go figure. The way I grew up, PC has never stood a chance with me and never will.
Back on track, these “healthy choice” advocates seem to assume that everybody will leap onto a government program at the first sign of illness. No one, they presume, has an HMO as back-up or sufficient wealth to obtain timely and quality medical care rather than substandard and often demeaning, government bureaucracy administered Socialized Medicine offerings.
Wrong! At least as long as the government doesn’t make it legally mandatory that all citizens participate in the program (Senior Ministers Pelosovitch and Reidakov would have no trouble with that, nor would any other mega-wealthy, double standard liberal)…
Right, while you and I are comparing tofu and rice recipes, Pelosi and Murtha would be sitting down to a chateaubriand dinner. Perhaps a platter of canard a’la orange, which the public, or non elite, can’t be allowed because of the fat content in a duck. Quack!
Michael Moore will be doing humongous pig on a spit for one.
Rosie O’Donnell will be chowing down on camel tripe and the fatty parts of a whole uncooked lamb using her bare and greasy hands, clamoring for ten pounds of pork chops as liquified provender drips down the front of her blouse.
For the rest of us, well, please pass the rice….
I’ve Never Really Given Much Thought…
…to ethanol, preferring to wait and see how well the fuel substitute does for itself on a commercial basis and, not being a scientist by any means, have thought that with all the great reviews it gets from what some call those in the know or perhaps the smart money, it might put a damper on both the consumption of Islamic fossil fuels and the doomsday uproar coming from the Man-Made Climate Change hucksters on the left.
Luckily, columnist John Stossel has come along with an article that casts formidable doubts regarding all this ethanol business.
No doubt about it, if there were a Miss Energy Pageant, Miss Ethanol would win hands down. Everyone loves ethanol.
“Ramp up the availability of ethanol,” says Hillary Clinton.
“Ethanol makes a lot of sense,” says John McCain.
“The economics of ethanol make more and more sense,” says Mitt Romney.
“We’ve got to get serious about ethanol,” says Rudolph Giuliani.
And the media love ethanol. “60 Minutes” called it “the solution.”
Clinton, Romney, Barack Obama and John Edwards not only believe ethanol is the elixir that will give us cheap energy, end our dependence on Middle East oil sheiks, and reverse global warming, they also want you and me — as taxpayers — to subsidize it.
Hmmmmm, wait a minute…
Better read the entire column.
Ahem.
Like Professor Clyde Crashcup used to say to his assistant, Leonardo, “Back to the drawing board”.
