I Suppose You Could Call This One…

…a theocrapost, in that there are connotations to that effect in both links herein.

First, A Victory For People Who Have Souls.

The Supreme Court has said a federal court went too far in ordering the removal of a congressionally endorsed war memorial cross from its longtime home in California.

In ruling the cross could stay, the justices said federal judges in California did not take sufficient notice of the government’s decision to transfer the land in a remote area of California to private ownership. The move was designed to eliminate any constitutional concern about a religious symbol on public land. The ruling was 5-4, with the court’s conservatives in the majority.

Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute is delighted with the decision, saying it addresses a crucial issue “on whether or not the government is going to allow individuals and others [to use religious symbols] to recognize those who’ve died in the service of our country….”

Dacus points out that the use of religious symbols has been a part of the nation’s history and a practice that has been long accepted in the past — and he is pleased that the high court has not deviated from precedent.

With the permission of Congress, the federal land the cross sits on was turned over to private parties. That fact, says Dacus, was a critical factor in the court’s decision.

“The fact that that [land transfer] did occur is such that this court was correct in that you can’t have a federal endorsement if the land is not federal property any longer — and that’s what this case hinged on,” says the attorney.

Because lower courts held the cross to be unconstitutional, it had been encased in a wooden box — pending a final ruling — so people could not see it.

The heroes of the day were Kennedy, Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas, while the losers in the atheists’ box were Stevens, Ginsburg and Sotomayer, who were unable to muster enough firepower to support their G-d hating leftist political agenda.

Second, it’s good to see that somebody gets it!

The Institute on Religion & Democracy is concerned that Christian groups are not fully realizing the threat posed by an expansion of sharia (Islamic law) in the West, and so it is calling upon churches to stand against global attempts to enshrine it.

Faith McDonnell, director of the religious liberty program at the IRD, highlights what she describes as a “trend” found in several countries “to capitulate to Islamist factions within the Muslim population” by enshrining sharia into the legal code, effectively creating a different set of rules for Muslims.

Imagine that!

“Islam’s goal is to Islamize the entire country — to take the territory and to claim it for Islam,” she explains. “So any of these things that we see happening where Islamists are complaining about offense, like with Franklin Graham coming to the Day of Prayer — it’s just a little bit more territory that they’re taking.”

Put a bucket underneath a leaky sink and leave it there, untouched. It will fill up, little by little, and begin to overflow overflow.

Put a slowly growing Islamic population in your Judeo-Christian country, leave it to its own devices, and watxch it overrun your own rights and religious freedom.

MMMMMM…….

…Let’s see, what am I thinking about today?

Well, a column I read today by Michelle Malkin comes to mind

The House Democrats’ Torquemada got cold feet. Self-styled “chief inquisitor” Henry Waxman announced this week that he’s canceling a planned show trial of corporate executives who called public attention to the financial hit they’re taking as a result of President Obama’s health care mandate. Business owners can breathe a small sigh of relief. But the witch hunt isn’t over.

You’ll recall that Waxman fired off nasty-grams to the heads of Deere, Caterpillar, Verizon and AT&T last month, demanding their presence at a congressional auto de fé. Their sin? Publicly reporting the costs and consequences of federal health care taxes on their firms’ bottom lines. A vindictive Waxman sought internal documents and e-mails from the CEOs about the profit charges. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke took to the White House blog and TV airwaves to condemn the “premature” and “irresponsible” disclosures.

I’m reminded of the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” here, when the America hating, communist scumbags who have infiltrated the House and Senate “progressives” in Congress attempted to bring about legislation that would — or so they hoped — bring about the demise of conservative talk radio.

Of course, any fool could see what these maggots distinguished ladies and gentlemen would really like to see happen — between the “Hate Crimes” bill, the “Fairness Doctrine” and the rest of their repertoire, it’s more than obvious that having a propaganda department (they have the mainstream media, but they want more) and a few squads of Ton Ton Macoutre types on call to still dissent via “disappearing” naysayers in the small hours of the morning, spouse, infants, dogs, finches, goldfish and all.

These are the same folks that place their hand on a Bible while swearing to “protect and defend the Constitution”.

Speaking of which the National Day of Prayer kerfuffle, y’know, another piss-pot judge with another Atheist 101 version of the Constitution sitting in his desk drawer, ruling America from the bench…Welllll, we weren’t speaking of it, but since I brought it up, let’s run with it. This quote would better define my own opinion as well as, if not better than, I myself could:

Congressman Randy Forbes (R-Virginia) is one of the 31 members of Congress mentioned by Sekulow. He says Thursday’s decision “represents a movement we are seeing across the country of a small minority who want to exclude faith, religion, and morality from the marketplace of ideas” and “seeks to unravel [the] very foundation our nation was built upon.”

The entire article is here.

One Nation Under G-d

Sorry I haven’t posted anything since New Year’s Eve, but I’ve been beyond swamped in catching up on a ton of work I took a couple of breaks from to entertain over Christmas and New Year’s, reading credit reports and checking references of prospective tenants to rent my house to, preparing the house for a tenant as much as I can while still living in it and sorting things out for my own move, and I’ve had precious little time to spend keeping up with my email, let alone my blog.

I finally got some time to visit a few of my favorite sites and do a little bit of other reading, and ran across this Ronald Reagan quote at the head of the comment section over at Gayle’s blog:

If we ever forget we are a nation Under God, we will become a nation gone under.

It brought to mind an excellent OpEd by Dennis Prager that appeared in Wednesday’s Jewish World Review that I would like to share, which can be found here.

As in all things, the atheist left in this country bases their propaganda strategies on those of their communist brethren of Cold War Europe — knowing that they’ll never sell their anti God agenda to the masses using any kind of honest approach, they choose instead to sleaze sneak around behind our proverbial backs; revise history, depicting our founding fathers as atheists wherever they can get away with it, working through our education system, and quell all public symbols and references to G-d via the legal system.

Their godlessness, hell, downright soullessness makes it easy for them to impugn, besmirch, exaggerate, spin, attack and lie without compunction.

Their utterly twisted goal is to engender spiritual barrenness in future generations, a prerequisite to establishing the kind of leftist country they wish to see America become.

Personally, I pray to G-d that America’s belief in Him remains firm, and that this enemy within fails miserably. I love my country and its traditions and Judeo-Christian beliefs just as they are, thank you.

Gimme A Break….

Now the atheistic left is turning their beady eye on the Department of Defense.

Christian military officers who share their faith at work in the Pentagon pose a threat to national security, according to a group that advocates for religious neutrality in the military.

Public displays of faith by high-ranking military officers project an image of a Christian nation waging war on non-Christians, both inside and outside the United States, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation said Monday.

This created an “internal national security issue every bit as great as the one we’re fighting outwardly,” said the organization’s president, Mikey Weinstein.

Do these liberals ever actually listen to the idiocy that emerges when they open their mouths? From the relevant to the pedestrian, in this case the latter, they use the most ridiculous arguments to support the most inane, political agenda related rhetoric.

Handily, the perfect reply to this maudlin, moronic and picayune attack comes from a woman who obviously has her priorities straight:

Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, criticized Weinstein for asking the DOD inspector general’s office to spend time investigating the video.

She said that because the video is accompanied by a disclaimer and does not ask for money, it doesn’t raise concern with her.

“The Department of Defense inspector general has an awful lot of issues on their plate, on their agenda, and I don’t see this as something so important that everything else should be put on hold,” Donnelly told Cybercast News Service after viewing the video. “The DOD IG has a lot more important things to do.”

Kinda’ reminds me of W.C. Fields saying, “Go ‘way, kid, y’bother me.”

11 September 2006

Five years ago today, a group of evil and Godless monsters introduced America to the real Islam — by hijacking four airplanes and flying two of them into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon and another, very possibly headed for the White House, went down in a field in Pennsylvania when brave passengers, American heroes, attempted to fight the Muslim hijackers and take back the aircraft.

These perverse, murderous Muslims, who claimed to belong to “the religion of peace”, butchered nearly 3,000 innocent people in the World Trade Center. Three Thousand. And then Muslims in the Middle East took to the streets, men, women and children, to laugh, dance and celebrate the mass murder.

These satanic enforcers of Islam sacrificed their very lives to carry on the work of Mohammed the Pedophile, Mohammed the sick piece of murdering scum, Mohammed the false prophet … and left thousands of good people, families, to mourn their dead, corpses that had been living, breathing loved ones — mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, room mates, to whom they’d said or kissed goodbye that very morning, fully expecting to welcome them home that same evening.

When I lived in New York back in the 1980s, I worked on Wall Street, in the Commodities business — the COMEX, the NYCSCE and other exchanges were based in the WTC and I used to go there often on business. I lived in Queens at the time, and used to take the E-train to its last stop on my way to work — the station was beneath the World Trade Center — so I passed through the ground level concourse 5 days per week.

When I was in New York on business in September, 2005, it was my first time there since the spring of 1999. I made a special trip to Ground Zero one morning, and what I saw brought tears to my eyes. A great big pit surrounded by a fence. I’m anything but a cryer, trust me on this one, but I wept as I looked at the remains and thought about all the innocent human beings murdered by Islam.

I had intended to post links to various blogs and other sites commemmorating 9/11 today, 2,996 fellow bloggers have posts up commemmorating the individual victims of Islam on 9/11, but truth be told, to me this is a day of total mourning…. What those Muslims did to us exactly 5 years ago defies sanity and demands an exponentially greater response against members of that satanic religion and all its sects than we have so far executed.

Those bastards!

Support Chaplains’ Religious Freedom

This latest alert from RightMarch addresses a very disturbing situation regarding the legal right of Chaplains in the United States Armed Forces to administer their religious duties, commanders who are illegally forbidding them to do so and how we all can help do something about it.

ALERT: Time and again, our President has correctly stated that “Freedom is not America’s gift to the world, it is the almighty God’s gift to every man and woman in this world.” The recent elections in Iraq visibly demonstrated the wonders of liberty.

Unfortunately, there is a threat to freedom within the United States that is surprising to the average observer and gravely disappointing to those closer to the situation. It has come to our attention that many chaplains in the military, specifically the Air Force and Navy, are being prohibited from faithfully practicing the faith of their civilian sponsor in accordance with the doctrinal and practical standards of the same. While US Code Title 10 Section 6031 directly permits chaplains to preach and practice their particular faith, various rulings by military superiors have stripped this law of its effectiveness.

One example in particular is that of an Evangelical Episcopal chaplain with status as a Catholic lay-reader. This chaplain has been cited negatively by his superiors for, among other things, praying in the name of Jesus, seeking to procure kosher foods for a Jewish sailor, and opposition to quota-induced attendance at a homosexual-led service during fleet week.

According to the First Amendment and US Code Title 10 Section 6031, this chaplain has perfect freedom to minister according to the dictates of his faith, but currently his job is on the line for these activities due to reckless disregard of his freedoms. This is OUTRAGEOUS, and must be fixed.

President Bush has the power to fix it — and we need to ask him to do so.

TAKE ACTION: This week, a letter signed by many conservative leaders, representing millions of members nationwide, is being sent to the President, asking him to sign an Executive Order to enforce the law that’s been written since 1860. RightMarch.com is one of the signers of that letter — but to be really effective, President Bush needs to hear from YOU.

Join with millions of Americans committed to the freedoms that have made this country great. At this time of year, Christians, Jews, and Muslims all enjoy the freedom of religion that was seminal at the settling and founding of this beacon of freedom called the United States. Click below NOW to urge President Bush to sign an Executive Order to enforce US Code Title 10 Section 6031, which says “An officer in the Chaplain Corps may conduct public worship according to the manner and forms of the church of which he is a member”:

http://capwiz.com/sicminc/issues/alert/?alertid=8332616&type=PR

NOTE: President Bush’s commitment to freedom, his commitment to the military, and his commitment to faith all are obvious and admired. Let’s all ask him to act on each of these commitments simultaneously by signing this Executive Order. Be sure to forward this Alert to EVERYONE you know who wants to help enforce true religious freedom for our military chaplains. Thank you!

Sincerely,

William Greene, President

The Law Is The Law

And another one from my conservative Democrat(old school as opposed to liberal dominated) Aunt Brenda,

THE LAW IS THE LAW!!

So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the words “under God” to be on our money, then, so be it.

And if that same government decides that the “Ten Commandments” are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.

And since they already have prohibited any prayer in the schools, on which they deem their authority, then so be it.

I say, “so be it,” because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.

I say, “so be it,” because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.

I would like to think that those people have the American Publics’ best interests at heart.

BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I’D LIKE?

Since we can’t pray to God, can’t Trust in God and cannot Post His Commandments in Government buildings,

I don’t believe the Government and it’s employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life.

I’d like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it’s just another day.

I’d like the US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays. After all, it’s just another day.

I’d like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the “Christmas Break.” After all it’s just another day.

I’m thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter.

It shouldn’t cost any overtime since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be “politically correct.”

In fact….

I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God…) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day….

What do you all think????

If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to represent the ‘majority’ of ALL of the American people.

SO BE IT………..

Please Dear Lord, Give us the help needed to keep you in our country!

‘Amen’ and ‘Amen’

These are definitely things I never thought about but from now on, I will be sure to questions those, in government, who support these changes.

Did You Know…?

This is the content of a forward sent me today by a friend and I thought I’d pass it on as it is so relevant in view of the attacks on America’s relationship with God by our country’s atheists(liberals, the ACLU and other assorted treasonous flotsam). The composition is attributed to Andy Rooney:

DID YOU KNOW? As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world’s law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view … it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW?

As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door.

DID YOU KNOW?

As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall,
right above where the Supreme Court judges sit,
a display of the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW?

There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C.

DID YOU KNOW?

James Madison, the fourth president, known as “The Father of Our Constitution” made the following statement:

“We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”

DID YOU KNOW?

Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said:

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.

DID YOU KNOW?

Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.

DID YOU KNOW?

Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.

DID YOU KNOW?

Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law an oligarchy, the rule of few over many.

DID YOU KNOW?

The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said:

“Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers.”

How, then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional?

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, it is very hard to understand why there is such a mess about having the Ten Commandments on display or “In God We Trust” on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don’t we just tell the other 14% to Sit Down and SHUT UP!!!?

Hat tip, Jodee.
