In Washington, a presidential Administration releases news it doesn’t like at 5 p.m. on Fridays. So it pays to pay attention when everyone is leaving work for the weekend.

Late last Friday, the State Department released a positive environmental review of the Keystone XL pipeline. President Obama has been delaying this pipeline—which would carry oil from Canada to refineries in Texas—for more than three years.
The delay has meant that America is still waiting on an additional 700,000 to 830,000 barrels of oil per day from a close ally, not to mention 179,000 American jobs.

Why has this taken so long, when all environmental reports thus far have been positive? Heritage’s Nicolas Loris, the Herbert and Joyce Morgan Fellow, explains:
Given the need for jobs and more oil on the global market to offset high prices, the permit application had been moving along positively with bipartisan support without much attention until environmental activists made blocking the Keystone XL pipeline their issue to rally around for 2011. Although President Obama and the Department of State (DOS) said they’d make a decision at the end of 2011, they ultimately catered to a narrow set of special interests, punting the decision until after the 2012 elections.

The State Department, which is overseeing the pipeline because it crosses a U.S. border, has “already conducted a thorough, three-year environmental review with multiple comment periods,” Loris reported last year.

The review has been comprehensive:

DOS studied and addressed risk to soil, wetlands, water resources, vegetation, fish, wildlife, and endangered species. They concluded that the construction of the pipeline would pose minimal environmental risk. Keystone XL also met 57 specific pipeline safety standard requirements created by DOS and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

Canada has oil to sell, and it isn’t likely to wait forever. Forbes writer Brigham McCown said that “Delays in approving the upper portion of the pipeline have bewildered many Canadians who see the U.S. as their closest ally and trading partner.”

McCown pointed out that “Even without the pipeline, Canada will continue to extract the oil which would be most likely transported by pipeline and rail to Canada’s coast for shipment to Asian markets.”

Because the State Department is overseeing the application, the new Secretary of State, John Kerry, will be giving his recommendation on the pipeline. Ultimately, the decision rests with President Obama. But Heritage’s David Kreutzer says Congress can, and should, step in if the President continues to block it:

Should the President reject Keystone again, Congress should wield its power to regulate commerce with foreign nations and approve the pipeline’s construction once the State Department again finishes its review of the rerouted project.
These delays are pointless. The Keystone pipeline has passed its environmental reviews, and the Obama Administration is only hurting America by holding it up.

The ball, as they say, is in Obama’s court. If he still refuses to budge, Congress had darn well better get involved!

….but acknowledging a reality I never thought I’d live to witness in this great nation;

I first want to thank Mrs. Wolf, along with her big bad husband and our good friend Chuck for holding the fort here in my absence — especially Mrs. Wolf who has put in such an effort for so long….

However, while I have been out of the mainstream as well as away from the blog for so long — I still have a few issues to contend with before I can return, though as far as Hard Astarboard is concerned, I don’t know exactly to what, though, again, possibly not politics as I see little point in playing against a stacked deck, which is what the United States of America has become, and blatantly so.

I spent a couple of days in New York recently and in walking around Manhattan found it rather depressing.

A few examples:

Yesterday’s immigrants, largely from east Asia and Europe, came over, assimilated into our society and contributed to the whole as new Americans, leaving their own legacies while becoming, as we say, “Americanized”.

Today’s crop, however, seems to come entirely from third world shitholes with little if any concern about becoming Americans. Rather, they bring said third world shitholes over here with them and this baggage they bring becomes the new American standard.

Sub Saharan Africans line the sidewalks, even in front of large established department stores, with stands purveying cheap knock-offs, others appear like magic right as rain begins to fall and sell cheap umbrellas that fall apart as soon as a slight breeze strikes them, so inevitably as one walks along one sees every corner trash receptacle overflowing with broken umbrellas in every level of disrepair. Still others illegally sell counterfeit watches (hundreds of them out there doing it daily from Canal Street all the way through midtown Manhattan), posting lookouts to warn them of approaching police officers. Hundreds of others run tables selling the same cheap items, from wallets to cell phone cases to scarves to gloves to who knows what all…

Jihadi wagons (those eyesore, unsanitarily maintained stainless steel “Hallal” food carts, many with a Muslim inside, many with one on the sidewalk in front of a grill) are virtually everywhere, all but underscoring the number of legitimate restaurants, cafes and diners, sometimes as many as four or five along one side of a block and the numbers keep growing, as though there’s no limit to how many can be out there to compete with regular eateries.

Most of the smaller retail businesses you go into are staffed by people who have no concept of that great American tradition known as Customer Service, nor have they any clue about the concept of product knowledge. All they know is how much an item costs.

You go into a stall in a public restroom, and you can rest assured that if some brownskinned guy from a third world shithole is coming out, he has just finished urinating without lifting the seat and hasn’t bothered flushing the commode, either.

The modern New York cab driver is a Muslim from one or another of those Third World shitholes (many even wear shalwar kamiz, the outfits seen in Pakistan and Afghanistan consisting of a long, loose shirt falling low over loose fitting pants — Wolf tells me that before he retired from service, he had occasion to punch a few holes in some shalwar kameez from time to time) who, despite a legal condition of a hack license being that he takes a fare wherever said fare wants to go in Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx or Brooklyn, tends to make a potential fare stand there, hat in hand, and say where he or she wishes to go before getting in the cab and if the driver doesn’t see the trip as revenue advantageous, he turns down the fare.

So now those same New York liberals who so fight to force multiculturalism on us have accepted the fact that now they have to stand there like sheep and hope a cabbie will agree to take them where they want to go.

Since it’s an illegal practice, many cabbies keep their “off duty” light on so they can say “I was off duty — if they wanted to go in the direction I was going, I could have taken them.”

This is multiculturalism in action.

While these barely civilized third world shitholers are being imported in droves, men and women from countries whose natives are infinitely more compatible with our sensibilities, our culture and our sanitary standards have to jump through hoops for the opportunity to live in America.

What a concept! Thank you so much, liberals.

Of course, this is all just cosmetic where the real problems we’re having are concerned; the real problem is that while Constitutionally, the federal government isn’t supposed to have the power to stomp our economy into the ground and spit on it or to micromanage our lives, they are doing a great job of both nonetheless. They are screwing us royally, without even a kiss, while feathering their own nests at our expense.

For some time, the far left has been firmly in charge of the media, our education establishment, American labor and the U.S. government, and in the latter case they’ve had a whole lot of help from those whores we conservatives have been electing to represent us in the Senate and the House of Representatives.

That’s right, whores.

The so-called “Republicans” have sold us out. Last time out, they used the Tea Party movement to advance themselves, then turned around and started denouncing those true patriots when they didn’t need them anymore.

As Mrs Wolf pointed out recently, prior to that, we had six years of a Republican presidency underlined by Republican majorities in both the House and the Senate…

…and our country STILL moved steadily to the left.

Meanwhile, our children are being dumbed down by the left-controlled education system that turns out a product that seems to have no concept as to political reality, who’d probably tell you Kathleen Sibelius is a long deceased famous composer and Joe Biden used to be the Tidy Bowl Man (actually, that has possibilities…). They’re voting irresponsibly, based on malarkey generated by a propagandizing mainstream media that, if there were any justice and the First Amendment notwithstanding, would be mass-prosecuted for treason.

But somewhere along the bottom line, that’s neither here nor there;

What is, is the fact that we’ve become a country of sheep, our politicians, who were supposed to be serving us, our shepherds. They enact unconstitutional laws and we tolerate them, they vote themselves (again unconstitutionally) health care and retirement and now Obama’s given them and the rest of the government an opening to get still more compensation… a bribe to vote his way, which you know they’ll accept in a heartbeat.

Slowly stripping our freedoms and raising taxes until…what? The 75% Gray Monk informed us in his comment to Mrs. Wolf’s last post that the French are now subject to? Will they not stop before America dies from an Overdose of Redistribution?

Yet throughout all this, our inboxes fill up with urgings from various “conservative” politicians, the GOP and a whole gaggle of Republican PACS to donate money so they can “continue to fight for the cause“.

What cause is that, exactly? Or better, whose cause?

It’s no conservative’s cause that I know of, in fact flushing our money down the commode would probably do more for any conservative cause than sending it to those RINOs in Washington.

They’re not using the money for any proactive results that I can see, yet it’s getting spent.

I’ve reached the point, in fact, where I’m about to mark every single email that comes in from any politicians, PACs or the GOP as Spam, because anything they say is pure bullshit.

They make a lot of conservative noises and, as Mrs Wolf puts it, rattle their sabers, and that’s all they do, as the country lists farther and farther to port.

Meanwhile, in New York there are more and more cops on the street along with some patrolling in unmarked black vans dressed in combat gear and armed with M4 assault weapons like those carried by our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan — these guys will stop and deploy for no known reason at some point in front of a store or along a stretch of sidewalk, just to be seen… to get citizens accustomed to seeing a military or paramilitary presence in the course of the day, as we see National Guardsmen in Penn and Grand Central Stations on a daily basis now.

Is eventual Martial Law on the table now, as well?

All I see is the end of a great nation, sold down the river by the same self seeking politicians who so falsely purport to be American patriots.

So, while we’re not throwing in the towel just yet, neither are we going to concern ourselves with the politics of the day as enacted by the whores we’ve elected to enact them.

When I eventually return to full time blogging, I may go to topics other than politics, because the more we here at Hard Astarboard post from our conservative political point of view, the more we feel as though we’re flogging a dead horse.

I believe the writing was on the wall when Barack Obama was reelected. America as we longingly remember her, the Constitution we so love and the morality that once underlined American thought have all gone by the wayside, kicked unceremoniously aside by the very system that once supported them as the system was corrupted and bastardized from within by the far left, abetted by and with the spinelessly treasonous cooperation of a gaggle of whores masquerading as Republican Party politicians.

Every last one of those sniveling RINO toilet cakes, from Boehner on down, should be hung as traitors from the nearest lamp post.

So while Hard Astarboard will remain, we will put the fickle, defeatist politics of the GOP on the back burner and hope that somewhere in the future, with any luck in our lifetimes, those elected to give voice to the conservative viewpoint in the governing of the United States will once again be issued spines, pride in America as it was in the days of our youths and some semblance of patriotism….

Last week I wrote about gun shop owner Cope Reynolds, who posted a sign on his business door and took out a full page ad in the local newspaper stating:

“If you voted for Barack Obama your business is NOT WELCOME at Southwest Shooting Authority. You have proven you are not responsible enough to own a firearm.”

A number of people warned him that he would lose a significant number of customers due to his ad and sign.

I’m pleased to report that the opposite is true. Reynolds is reporting that he has been getting hundreds of calls and emails for orders from all over the country. He reports:

“I’ve been busier than a cat covering up poop on a marble floor.”

In an interview with a major Arizona newspaper, Reynolds said:

“People are saying that I’ve alienated half of our customers. No, I haven’t. I haven’t alienated any of my customers, because the people who voted for Obama don’t buy guns here. They don’t come here at all. I haven’t alienated. I’ve improved things. I have packages sitting on my desk to be shipped to places like Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Idaho, Nevada and California.”

When asked about the phone calls he receives, Reynolds said that around 75% of them are supportive of his stand, but that there are those that are quite vile and nasty and he is still receiving death threats. Is describing them, he said:

“You can always tell the ones that are not — 9 out of 10 of them start out with vile and nasty language. And I guess they don’t have the intelligence to carry on a conversation like an adult. Just comes with the territory I guess.”

When asked how he plans on enforcing his policy, he said it all depends on the customers. If they don’t say anything to indicate they voted for Obama, then he will take their business. However, if someone does let it be known that they are Obama supporters, he will politely ask them to leave. He is also contemplating the idea of extending a discount to customers who are registered Republicans and Libertarians.

Like I said last week, imagine what would happen if more conservatives refused to do business with people who voted for Obama like Cope Reynolds.

“Absolutely.” Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter has gone so far as to assert that “by any measure” voters are in better shape today than they were four years ago. Really? Let’s consult the raw data:

Unemployment: 7.8% then, 8.3% now

Median income: $54,983 then, $50,964 now

Gas prices: $1.85 per gallon then, $3.78 now

National debt: $10.6 trillion then, $15.9 trillion now (with the debt hitting the magic $16 Trillion mark tonight, appropriately)

Half of all Americans are now considered “poor” or “low income.”

One out of every six Americans is living in poverty — an increase of millions since Obama took office.

Food stamp usage has increased by 45 percent under this president.

Average family health care premium costs have increased to roughly $15,000 per year.

In a speech the other day in Youngstown, Ohio, Vice President Joe Biden screamed at the audience, “They just don’t get us! They don’t get who we are!”

“They,” of course, means you and me, conservative types who are just too dim to understand all the wonderful things the Obama Administration is doing for the country.

The accusation came after a rant about how jobs are “coming back” and how there were “signs of life” in the Heartland because of the administration’s hard work and economic policies.

It was a typical liberal shoutfest where the louder you yell something, the more true it becomes. I’ve heard it numerous times from some of my educated friends who should know better: “You’re blaming the guy driving the firetruck for starting the fire.” For liberals, it’s we conservatives who look crazy.

So it’s helpful once in a while to do a reality check. A little self-analysis, as with confession, is good for the soul. I mean, if you were to go crazy, wouldn’t you at least want to know that you were?

In the case of political views, side-by-side comparison of liberal vs. conservative views on President Obama is one illuminating technique.

Anyway:

President Obama as a person

Conservative: Obama comes from a highly suspicious background in which he was raised and schooled around numerous anti-American socialists and communists; vital records such as schooling, medical history and selective service remain not only unavailable but deliberately kept under wraps; there is evidence that suggests Obama could have used false identities and been involved in fraud; even his birth certificate appears to have been forged.

Liberal: He’s black. He’s cool.

President Obama’s economic performance

Conservative: President Obama’s stimulus packages have shown no effect in improving the economy; there is ample evidence to suggest that most of the money was used as payback to supporters; he has turned auto and other companies into essentially state-run businesses; jobs have not come back in any significant way since Obama took office, and any statistical “gains” have mostly been attributable to large numbers of Americans simply giving up any hope of finding a job, thus shrinking the number of people counted as “jobless”; three years into it, Obama is still blaming President Bush for the economy.

Liberal: President Obama says the economy is getting better, and I believe him. He’s black. He’s cool.

Obama’s foreign policy

Conservative: Obama negotiates from weakness; he began his administration by apologizing to many countries that have been our enemies and bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia; he told the Russians over an open mic that he is essentially willing to cave to their demands that we remove missile defenses in Europe; he has tacitly and overtly encouraged violence in the Middle East, even engaging in military actions against Libya without informing Congress; he has weakened America’s standing in the world and pursued a policy of having America follow the crowd rather than lead.
Liberal: Obama says we are stronger than ever, and I believe him. He’s black. You’re a racist. He’s cool. You drool.

Obama’s domestic policies

Conservative: Obama has appointed an unprecedented number of “czars” who are not subject to any scrutiny or approval by Congress or voters; his TSA is out of control, violating the privacy of travelers under the pretense of airport security; the Department of Homeland Security and the IRS have been allowed to target conservative groups for harassment; Obama’s cabinet members and czars have shown repeatedly they are willing to go around the law by quietly creating “policies” for their respective agencies that were rejected as laws by Congress; the administration has demonstrated a culture of disdain for constitutional limits on presidential power; the president himself has tried to unconstitutionally decree that religious institutions must buy into a health insurance policy with abortion and contraceptive provisions that violate religious conscience.

Liberal: Obama knows best. You’re racist. I’m going to report you. You should be on a watch list. Shut up.

This is soooo accurate!

So, in summation, the reason conservatives know we aren’t crazy is that we actually pay attention to what’s coming out of Washington and draw logical conclusions. Could we be wrong on any given issue? Of course. All humans are fallible.

Liberals on the other hand seem to base their beliefs solely on the fact that someone in authority “says it’s so.” So liberalism is in essence just irrational faith.

A memo to our liberal friends: The next time you go to some online site to complain about how stupid and dangerous you think conservatives are, try looking in a mirror first.

Forget the brave U.S. Navy SEALs who went into a hostile and dangerous place to rid the world of Osama bin Laden, it was and is all about Barack Obama and Barack Obama only, right?

That he should use the event as a political tool in his attempt to further disgrace the White House shouldn’t come as a surprise. After all, he also had the contemtible gaul, in his long obvious hatred of the Jews and Israel, to try and sneak a Nazi war collaborator and supporter of Hitler into the honors list for the White House proclamation of Jewish History Month.

Nazi collaborator and American artist Gertrude Stein was among Jewish Americans praised in a White House announcement yesterday proclaiming Jewish Heritage Month.

The inclusion, noted by Algemeiner.com, in its original released form read, “Their history of unbroken perseverance and their belief in tomorrow’s promise offers a lesson not only to Jewish Americans, but to all Americans. From Aaron Copland to Albert Einstein, Gertrude Stein to Justice Louis Brandeis.”

Stein was a supporter and collaborator with the Nazis’ Vichy regime in France, according to Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, who has criticized a current Stein art exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

According to Barbara Will, author of “Unlikely Collaboration: Gertrude Stein, Bernard Fay and the Vichy Dilemma,” Stein survived the Vichy regime because she was a strong supporter of the Nazis, publicly proclaiming her support of Adolf Hitler and proposing him for a Nobel Peace Prize in the mid-1930s.

She considered Gen. Phillipe Petain, the Nazi puppet who deported thousands of Jews, to be a French hero, and she volunteered to write an introduction to an English translation of his speeches so Americans could see the virtues of the Vichy government.

Dershowitz adds, “Stein’s closest friend, and a man who greatly influenced her turn toward fascism was Bernard Fay, who the Vichy government put in charge of hunting down Masons, Jews and other perceived enemies of the State. … After the war, when the horrendous results were known to all, Gertrude wrote in support of Fay when he was placed on trial for his Nazi war crimes.”

Ooops, caught out before the list could be released. So…

A White House official said the proclamation issued yesterday was an early draft that was mistakenly released. That was replaced with a new version that does not mention Stein, but the original remained on the White House website for several hours.

In a regime strongly sponsored by George Soros, whose first job was delivering eviction notices to Jews for the Nazis, it would not be surprising. According to the Ottawa Sun, as a teen Soros worked for the Judenrat, the Jewish council set up by the Nazis to round up Jews for the trains to the concentration camps. Asked by Steve Kroft of “60 Minutes” if he had any regrets about those activities, Soros replied, “There was no sense that I shouldn’t be there. If I wasn’t doing it, somebody else would be taking it away anyhow. Whether I was there or not. So I had no sense of guilt.”

Indeed.

Since taking office, President Obama has often been notably cold toward Israel and openly sympathetic toward the Palestinians and other Muslim groups that would see Israel wiped off the Earth if they had their druthers.

Perhaps the proclamation praising Stein was just a mistake, or perhaps it was a case of “trickle-down” racism.

A good slogan for Obama’s reelection campaign, to replace “Forward!”, would be:

From there, the video recounts a number of disastrous energy policies currently being pursued by our government which are stifling growth and hampering the economy.

From smothering entrepreneurship under pages of red tape, to throwing good money after bad on unproven green energy companies, it’s clear this Administration’s energy policies have failed and, as the video above suggests, are working against America’s best interests.

This is an excellent video, a little over 4 1/2 minutes and surprise, surprise, “if I wanted America to fail” bears a striking resemblance, in every respect, to the policies of a certain (ah hem!) incumbent president…

A Florida advocacy group spearheading protests over the racially-charged Trayvon Martin shooting has welcomed the intervention of the United Nations’ human rights chief, who has called for the shooter to be put on trial and “reparations for the victims concerned.”

“We believe that the United Nations involvement can help prevent another Trayvon Martin situation in other counties across the world,” J. Willie David, president of the Florida Civil Rights Association, said in a statement provided to CNSNews.com on Monday.

“The shooting death of Trayvon Martin and Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law have created a worldwide movement that calls into question how justice is delivered to victims of color,” he said.

Cent 1: How is this the U.N.’s business? Between trying to get involved in monitoring our last election, attempting to enact a special U.N. payroll tax on all working Americans and let’s not forget their endeavors at becoming involved in efforts to take away our Second Amendment rights, the people in this corrupt, inept global organization most definitely became much too big for their britches some time ago and are very much in need of a slapping down.

If only we had a few politicians, naturally they’d have to be Republicans or perhaps Independents since Democrats are all for U.N. interference in our national business on every level, who had the cojones to smack the United Nations into its place…

Cent 2: It’s amazing how when a young black man beats down a non-black senior citizen and robs him/her and the victim is paralyzed or dies, it’s not a “racial incident” and in fact seems almost to be a non-incident, but when the same young black man, even one with a criminal record (narcotics, assault, robbery, gang-banging, CCW, whatever) is shot down in the process of assaulting or robbing someone, it’s automatically a racial incident and the same professional race activists are suddenly in the spotlight shouting “racism!!!!” and demanding justice.

I don’t know about you, but I believe that when a mugger or violent victimizing type gets shot, no matter what color he is, justice has already been done!

So what’s everybody getting so worked up about?
