In the Blatant Outrage Department…

Now THIS is just plain CRIMINAL!

From Human Events

CONGRESS WORKS TO REPEAL OBAMACARE… FOR THEMSELVES

Is anyone truly surprised by this news, outside of a few dead-end Obama voters? There’s no way Congress was going to be part of the “train wreck” it inflicted upon the rest of America, to borrow retiring Democrat senator (and ObamaCare author) Max Baucus’ memorable phrase. The most urgent item on the American agenda is the full repeal of ObamaCare, but the political class is more interested in repealing it for themselves, as reported by Politico:

Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said.

The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said.

As has been suggested here before, perhaps it really is time a bill was passed to start stringing these Capital Hill sleazeballs up from the lampposts! Unlike their predecessors of yore, these filthy creatures don’t give a damn about the country they have been elected to serve, not at all; These corrupt lowlifes are only in it for themselves, and to hell with we, the people.

The whole story is here.

Another Face of Federal Corruption

And you wonder why we’re so fed up with our politicians and the bureaucracies they allow to flourish within our government? That’s right, OUR government, the one we pay for with OUR taxes.

From The Washington Guardian

The D.C. DOES program was supposed to spend federal dollars helping find jobs for the unemployed, but instead wasted $8.8 million on excessive salaries, rent and other unrelated costs

A District of Columbia program misused $8.8 million in federal funds that were supposed to help the jobless find work, diverting the money instead to overpay bureaucrats or cover unrelated overhead expenses, investigators found.

The grants provided by the U.S. Labor Department’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) were designed to support employment programs and unemployment insurance. Instead, officials at the DC DOES program couldn’t keep track of their own expenses, investigators said.

“D.C. DOES did not have sufficient controls and processes in place to ensure costs claimed for ETA grants were adequately supported by the general ledger and were reasonable, allocable, and allowable as set forth in federal cost principles,” the Labor Department’s inspector general general declared in a recent report.

Investigators analyzed $25 million the D.C. program received in federal grants and found that roughly a third of it had been wasted. But their sample size was just part of the $89 million D.C. DOES received between 2008 and 2011.

That’s okay, Uncle Sam, just keep providing plenty of Bread & Circuses.

Still another Obamination

This one’s just too much, and all to return campaign favors by spending the taxpayers’ money for something we don’t even need in order to reward some people who helped him monetarily on his campaign.

From J.P. Attitude:

Last week the U.S. government received its first shipment of a new medicine for treating smallpox. That’s right, smallpox. The new drug is called Arestvyr and this shipment is the beginning of a $463 million order for two million doses of the stuff.

If you’re confused by this news, it’s because you thought smallpox was cured forty years ago. Well, it was. Smallpox is the only human disease ever totally defeated. It was officially certified as eradicated by the World Health Organization in 1979… which begs the question: why is the government spending so much money on a disease that no longer exists?

The answer you’ll get from the Obama administration is they’re protecting us from enemies who might re-create the smallpox virus, weaponize it, and spray it on New York. Or crop dust the Super Bowl. Or some other nightmarish notion. That’s the official answer. The real answer is more about political corruption and the pharmaceutical industry.

So, to the heart of the matter…

The company that makes Arestvyr is SIGA Technologies, a company whose controlling stockholder happens to be Ronald Perelman, a longtime supporter of the Democrat Party and Barack Obama. In addition to normal political donations, he gave the president a big chunk of money to spend on inauguration parties. He probably considers the money an investment and don’t worry, he’s getting a good return: the government is paying SIGA about $255 per dose for a drug that costs very little to make.

If that’s not suspicious enough, another member of the SIGA board of directors is Andy Stern, former president of the Service Employees International Union, maybe the biggest Obama supporter of all.

This drug is apparently dangerous, certainly not worth the risk of administering and definitely not something that yours and my tax money should be paying for, just to stroke financiers of B. Hussein Obama’s campaign.

The entire piece is well worth the read, and is here.
