This One Came In An E-mail....

.... and I just had to share it.

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.

Well, for example, the other day I went downtown and went into a shop. I was only in there for about 5 minutes, and when I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

I went up to him and said, "Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break?"

He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.

I called him a "Nazi." He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a "doughnut eating Gestapo." He finished the second ticket, and put it on the windshield with the first.

Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn't care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said "Hillary in '08."

I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired.

Personally, I must admit that it is the sort of thing I would love to do, on a regular basis -- especially if there were Hillary 08 bumper stickers afoot....

Actually, no, LOL. Like you, KEv, that particular spambot seems, for the moment, to be an irradicable pest.

As for your other issue, I'm in no hurry -- some dishes are best served cold. We may be talking 3 days, or we may be talking 6 months. You really aren't that important, basically just an irritant. You can make reference all you wish, my fine, feathered friend, but you will receive no information on that quarter, though I promise that, if you continue messing with my blog, it will be a reality.

However, I do wish you the best of luck at quitting smoking....

Haha! That was a good one.

I really could picture myself doing something like that. I can be a real wiseass.

The other day I went to one of those convenience store Pharmacies to pick up some odds and ends like water, milk, etc, and decided to see if they had any decent bread. There was a sign over one aisle that said "Bread", but when I got there, not only was there no bread, but it turns out they don't sell bread.

Being me, I approached the manager and asked, "How come you don't have a sign so people can more easily find the motor oil?"

He said, "We don't sell motor oil."

I said, "What's that got to do with anything? You don't sell bread, and you have a sign for that, so why not have one for motor oil?"

I think I confused him.
