Tancredo Rocks!

So, yeah, I love singing the praises of Tom Tancredo -- he is the man who should represent the GOP in the next Presidential election. He's a solid patriot who, in view of his stance in our present national debate on illegal immigration and border security, is obviously more concerned about America's well being than President Bush seems to be, which is a major disappointment to me as I've been a strong Bush supporter from the start.

In perusing the web this fine early morning, I ran across an interview with Tom Tancredo at Right Wing News. I have no idea when this was posted, as there are no dates on the page that I can find. The interview was a masterful exchange. Of everything he said in the interview, the two paragraphs that most stand out for me, because they precisely reflect my own thoughts, are --

You know, I'm a Republican, I'm a Conservative, I voted for George Bush. In many ways, he's a fine President and I'm glad that he's there. But this achilles heel that he has on immigration is so threatening to the survival of this nation that in my mind it begins to overwhelm all of the good things that he does. He can fight terrorists overseas, but he leaves our borders so they can come in here and do their thing. Does that make any sense? We send troops thousands of miles away to fight terrorists, but we refuse to put them on our own border to keep them out. Then we tell the Justice Department to find them when they're here, swimming in a sea of illegals.

This issue, if not addressed, leaves any President, including George Bush, open to the criticism that they are essentially ignoring the destruction of the nation and I believe that with all my heart. I believe that is what we are actually facing here.

Wow

My Conservative Democrat{were all Democrats to be real ones, like those I grew up among, instead of the blame America first liberals that are served up as a lame excuse for today's Democrats -- sigh --} Aunt Brenda is batting a solid grand today, with this one:

We rarely get a chance to see another country's editorial about the USA . Read this excerpt from a Romanian Newspaper. The article was written by Mr. Cornel Nistorescu and published under the title "C"ntarea Americii, meaning "Ode To America") in the Romanian newspaper Evenimentulzilei "The Daily Event" or "News of the Day".

~An Ode to America~

Why are Americans so united? They would not resemble one another even if you painted them all one color! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations and religious beliefs. Still, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart.

Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the army, and the secret services that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed out onto the streets nearby to gape about. The Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand.

After the first moments of panic, they raised their flag over the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a government official or the president was passing.

On every occasion, they started singing their traditional song:
"God Bless America!" I watched the live broadcast and rerun after rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who gave his life fighting with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that could have killed other hundreds or thousands of people.

How on earth were they able to respond united as one human being?
Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put in a collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit, which no money can buy.

What on earth can unite the Americans in such a way? Their land? Their galloping history? Their economic Power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace.

I thought things over, but I reached only one conclusion... Only freedom can work such miracles.

Cornel Nistorescu

Good observation, Cornel, imagine if those planes had been crashed into buildings in Paris. There would still be millions of crapeau running around frantically, looking for someone to surrender to.

The Battle For Fran O'Brien's

While I was in Washington DC in early September, I discovered Fran O'Brien's, a steak house and bar that has since become my favorite place for dinner in the Nation's capital. It is always busy and the food is great.

I was originally attracted to the establishment when I learned that Hal Koster, one of the owners and a veteran himself, feeds patients from Walter Reed who have lost limbs fighting for freedom on behalf of our country a free steak dinner and drinks every Friday evening.

Fran O'Brien's is located underneath the Capitol Hilton and is a tenant of same, and apparently, Hilton management does not share the restaurant's patriotism or their gratitude to those who have sacrificed mightily for this country.

They have served Fran O'Brien's with an eviction notice!

One Antithesis To A San Francisco Attitude

Whereas the pinkos people of San Francisco have no use for the same military that ensures their freedom to verbally trash the government express their political opinions freely to the point of disallowing anyone from the U.S. Armed Forces to address students in their high schools, other schools, three thousand miles away, welcome our military.

High School ROTC programs in Maryland are enjoying strong enrollment numbers, according to a Washington Times report, nationwide programs having doubled in the last five years.

SNOW HILL, Md. (AP) -- More students at Eastern Shore high schools are joining the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, part of a national rise in popularity that has some high schools reporting up to a fourth are enrolled in the program. JROTC programs numbered 3,184 last year nationwide, up from 1,493 in 1990. Last year, more than 500,000 students in the United States were JROTC cadets.

From Lt. Col. Ron Harrington, USMC (Ret), at Snow Hill High School on Eastern Shores and Capt. Warren Harris, Army, at Crisfield High School,

Col. Harrington called the JROTC program a positive experience for the students, who are not required to join the military as adults. "What I like to say is that we don't teach the Marine Corps, we teach Marine Corps values,"{emphasis mine} he told the Salisbury Daily Times. On the Eastern Shore, schools from Wicomico High School to Crisfield High School all have programs in place with solid followings. Capt. Warren Harris, an instructor for Crisfield's Army JROTC program, said about 70 students usually sign up for classes each year. "Last year we had about 78 students enrolled, and being a small school, that makes about 20 [percent] to 25 percent of the school's population," he said.

This is a good sign, in my opinion, that despite efforts by the left to indoctrinate public school students to despise their country and its military, much of our youth is demonstrating through action that their own feelings are those of patriotic Americans wherein the anti-American dogmas of the liberal are of little or no import.

It's too bad that the majority of San Francisco parents and teachers choose to raise and indoctrinate the next generation of Murthas, Deans, Kerrys, Durbins, Pelosis, Teddy Ks and other left wing elements to continue their work of undermining the United States and all that America stands for, and to form the next wave of the liberal assault on our country's ability to defend itself.

Moving America Forward

Melanie Morgan and Move America Forward need our assistance, at least those of us who believe in America. Liberals{socialists, marxists, etc} need not apply, as they'd just as soon see the United States emulating the U.S.S.R. in their efforts to destroy America.

Fellow Americans,

Wednesday's terrorist attacks against innocent civilians in three
hotels in Amman, Jordan demonstrates why it is so important for us to step
up the war against terrorism.

We either defeat the terrorists - by killing them overseas and showing
them that the United States will not back down - or else we will face
more terrorist attacks here at home.

Appeasement and surrender is no option. Just look at the streets of
Paris, France, which are lined with burning automobiles by Muslim youth
who feel slighted by the French government. Not only have they shot and
killed a police officer, but they also doused a woman in gasoline as
she attempted to escape the riots. She was on crutches, and thus could
not outrun the attackers. She now suffers burns on over 60% of her
body.

Right now the most prominent frontline in America's war against
terrorism is Iraq. And we MUST prevail there - even though some people are
determined to get the United States to give up and pull out of Iraq.

Friends, this is EXACTLY why we are running our radio ads across the
nation rallying Americans to support the war in Iraq.

We've so far raised a little more than $25,000 for these ads. That's
simply not enough - especially since the ads will expand to markets
around the country NEXT WEEK. We must be well into the hundreds of
thousands of dollars to truly have an impact and give Americans the "shot in
the arm" to return to the fold and support the mission our military men
and women are serving in.

Let us please pull together and double the $25,000 we've raised in the
next 24 hours:

Or help us with a contribution via U.S. Mail:

Come on people, let's step up our efforts.

Sincerely,

Move America Forward

This is the latest email announcement from Move America Forward:

Fellow Move America Forward Supporters,

I'm Sal Russo, Chief Strategist for Move America Forward.

I am sending you this short update to pass on some very good news.

The Chairman of our group, Melanie Morgan, has joined World Net Daily
as a weekly columnist.

You can read the scoop on this development here:
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=46932

I know that many Americans will enjoy the opportunity to read Melanie's
conservative wit and wisdom each week. This is in addition to
Melanie's daily co-host duties on "The Lee Rodgers & Melanie Morgan Show" on
KSFO 560 AM.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Also, we are pleased to announce that Move America Forward will be
conducting a "Support Our Troops This Holiday Season" national radio ad
campaign.

We're in the process of producing radio ads that urge Americans not to
turn their backs on our troops this holiday season.

The news media continues to celebrate only the negative news in Iraq,
while ignoring the progress our troops are making. This is a subject
that will be the centerpiece of Melanie's first column at World Net
Daily, and it will also be the central focus of our radio ad campaign.

We'll have more on this program in a few days. But for now, I'll give
you one piece of news on the program that I really like:

* We will base the broadcast of these ads based on where we receive the
financial support to air them.

Our accounting team will be tracking ALL online and mailed
contributions. We will then allocate the money to each radio market and begin
broadcasting the ads in that city/market once we've reached $500 for any
city/market.

Once we've reached the $500 in a market we'll post on our website which
radio station we will start running the ads on, so you'll be able to
tune in and listen.

The point of all of this is to let you have the power to help advance
the Move America Forward message in YOUR area based on YOUR financial
contributions.

We think this is a fair and effective way to help spread the pro-troop
message during this crucial holiday season.

Now, this will mark your first chance to contribute to the campaign.

CONTRIBUTE ONLINE:
http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org/Contribution
Or mail in a contribution:

Move America Forward
ATTN: Holiday Pro Troop Ads
P.O. Box 1497
Sacramento, CA 95812

Next week Melanie will have more information about the ads, when the
campaign will go live, etc...

Thank you for reading my update.

Sincerely Yours,

Sal Russo

Essay

I don’t know exactly where we deviated to begin with, but I remember that when I was a kid there was a lot more American unity – by that, I mean that while our political parties were forever in combat for the most votes, they stood by their government 100% in times of war and other crises. It didn’t matter what the French thought, the media reported all the facts, the folks on the Hill(on both sides of the aisle) made profound, well thought out, patriotic statements that would read well in the history books.

Family values were reflected in places like The Donna Reed Show, sitcoms in general weren’t about sexual relations or politics, films and TV shows could get across intimate themes without the need for graphic depiction and do it quite well(today, our screenwriters apparently suffer from a paucity of imagination in that regard, they can’t show that a man and a woman have slept together without featuring them doing the deed), entertainment was entertainment for its own sake, not for the purpose of pressing an agenda and there was no need for “parental controls.”

Now, we’ve got a left-leaning media that reports selectively, either eliminating relevant information from their product or completely ignoring important facts in order to bias their “news” to meet their political agendas. We are the defenders in the most intense war in our history, yet because they hate our President, the Democrats do all they can to undermine our defense. Can anybody say, “treason?” Democrat politicians, including senators and representatives, make public statements that are as idiotic(they definitely aren’t “profound, well thought out, patriotic statements that will read well in the history books”) as they are anti-American.

We have miscreants like the 9th Circus – ooops, sorry, I mean 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, the ACLU and various other left wing entities that continue to undermine the very institutions that have made the United States of America the wealthiest, strongest and freest country on earth.

How far do these people intend to go? Men screwing little boys in the street while fetuses are butchered live on cable TV? Religion(except Islam) outlawed altogether? Sterile, PC, false, revised American History taught in schools? The above-50% taxes they pay in the Euro-countries? Socialized medicine that kills citizens who need immediate treatment? Running a business being synonymous with paying out most of the profits in gratuitous lawsuits? Taxes geared towards penalizing people and companies for their success?

How can anyone belong to today’s Democratic party and consider themselves patriotic? The DNC has moved so far away from the spectrum of American values that they may as well be living in a Socialist country.

So why don’t they?

Why endeavor to destroy the greatest nation in the history of this planet, to convert it to Socialism? Don’t they understand that the freedom they abuse to attack our way of life is the same freedom that allows them to do so?

Unlike those on the left side of the aisle, I am truly proud to be an American.
