Michelle (not the evil leftist, the good one)

Although I’ve read and own Unhinged and plan to read Culture of Corruption, I had never seen a Michelle Malkin interview (yes, sigh, it’s true), despite watching hundreds and hundreds of other interviews at FOX and all manner of other places, and then today, in an emailed edition today from Human Events, I had the opportunity to watch this one, in which Michelle is spot on with Matt Lauer, much to his apparent chagrin.

She is cool, eloquent and spot-on, and it’s easy to see why she’s considered a “threat” by various liberal loons.

I read Malkin’s book on the Japanese internment camps. She made some excellent points and debunked a lot of negative myths about the situation at the time.

I seem to catch many of her interviews. But, hey, I have the TV news (FNC) on most of the time. ;)

She’s cogent and keeps her cool. Facts, facts, facts. Troublesome things — wasn’t that Mark Twain?

“Facts are stubborn things” - John Adams… is that what you meant?

There’s one book I’ve been meaning to read. I’ve spoken to a number of WWII vets and others who were alive then in years past, and they all believed that the internment was a proper course of action given the situation of the time, but of course today we have to deal with revisionism, so… Needless to say, I will get around to reading it.

I will, after having watched this video of Malkin & Lauer, make a point of watching any and all future Michelle Malkin interviews I have the chance to see.

Facts are stubborn things, but statistics are more pliable. — Twain

Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. — Adams :-)

Yes, that’s the long version… I read MM’s blog regularly, and Hot Air posts any and all interviews she does, so it’s easy to keep up. She blew Lauer out of the water. He looked like he was sucking on a lemon at the end of that clip!

    LOL!

I definitely have to keep my eyes open for more of her video stuff.

OK, I like the Adams quote. That’s the one I meant.

If only some liberals would read that quote and let it sink in. :-(

    Another ‘Adams’ quote:
Our perceptions of truth are built around what is practical, not what is true. Even the smartest human brain doesn’t have the capacity for discerning true facts. That’s why so many of us settle for scientific facts. It’s the best we can do.

Adams quotes hmmm? How about Douglas Adams?

He hoped and prayed that there wasn’t an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn’t an afterlife.

Or this, for some of the politicians from your neck of the woods….
it is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Truth to tell, when I first heard Obama was talking about training some National Guardsmen, rotating back from Iraq, to run internment camps of some sort, the first thing that crossed my mind was something along the lines of a gulag:

Not like the Siberian slave camps made famous by Solzhenitzn, but… The way this country is listing to port (I mean, come on, the majority of our voters elect the Pelosi and Reid led majorities, then Obama) and the way the “ruling” party and our monarch (you know, the guy who appoints czars so he can rule his way around Congress) is spending the tax money of the next six generations while pushing legislation that will eliminate the middle class, in a few years, when there are only two classes — rich and poor — and there’s simply no money kicking around to support the poor; the disabled, mentally impaired, homeless, et-cetera, rather than let ‘em starve on the streets, a liberal president and Congress of the time will say, “We need to put these poor, huddled masses someplace where they can be cared for”, and maybe, “While we’re at it, why don’t we give them some productive work to do, like growing food or manufacturing products useful to the rest of society?”

Think about it. With all those socialist countries in the world whose lefty leaders would probably love to do something like that but are “bashful” about it, all that would be needed is America, leader of the free world, to set a precedent and all will be just dandy. :-(

He’s going to be a one termer. I think he’s finished. And so are many of the Democrats in Congress. I didn’t think it would happen this quickly, though. Major miscalculation on his part. But then, narcissists are often poor judges.

  13. Seth Says:

    Atheling –

I believe Obama’s going to be a one-termer, as well.

However, when I see how the American people, as a collective, put him in office to begin with, it’s all I need to realize that too many of our fellow citizens have become irresponsible with their votes, voting ignorantly instead of with any knowledge about the people they vote for — that, or they have decided they’d prefer a left wing government to one based on the U.S. Constitution..

The fact that Obama was elected by the people in the full knowledge that as president he would be serving with the back-up of a liberal run Congress makes it quite obvious, at least to me, in which direction, very quickly now, our country is headed.

Did I ever tell you I’m glad I’m over 50?
