Obama And Israel
My name is Chuck. Wolf and I go back to the early-mid 1970s and some time together in hell, which is about all I’ll say on that note, and Seth and I have been friends, having met through Wolf, for about 6 months.
I was asked recently to try and find some time to contribute to this august blog, and since then, Seth began going through some kind of weird depression thing that started on his birthday last week. I haven’t seen him since the day after, when he visited me briefly on the boat I call home. Whatever it is, I hope to hell he comes out of it, as it seems serious enough that I am concerned. Wolf is presently out of the country and Seth is not responsive to overtures to talk about the basis for his angst, so the best I can do at present is pray that he resolves things on his own.
So let’s get on with this.
While I’m not Jewish, I am an advocate of strong U.S./Israeli relations, favoring the Jewish State as a major U.S. ally.
Israel has been getting the proverbial shit end of the stick on behalf of the U.N., the U.S. and Europe in the course of Arab-favoring “peace initiatives” for decades, but never before has an American president been so transparently anti-Israel in his remarks, policies and attitude…Prior to the administration of Barack Hussein Obama, a man who for twenty years attended a church presided over by Reverend Wright a blatant, terrorist-loving anti-Jewish, race-baiting piece of gutter trash.
Do you get the impression that I don’t approve all that much of Obama’s religious mentor?
Obama’s recent speech in Egypt was pretty well indicative of where this POTUS stands on the Israel/Palestinian issue, as Road 90 describes it.
On June 4, 2009, President Barack H. Obama delivered a speech in Cairo, Egypt, that contained a distorted view of the Jewish people’s historical ties to the land of their forefathers, the land of Israel.
I recommend watching the entire video linked here, and taking a gander at a few of the comments below it.
All in all, I believe it tells the whole story.

I am sorry to hear that Seth is going through a bad spell, I sincerely hope he can pull out f it quickly.
The Israeli government are certainly not helping their own cause in the manner in which they deal with the Palestinians, but then I have little ympathy for the Palestinians either. I think the entire thing is a very convenient bit of “Real-Politik” for the Islamic movement and so even if Israel did change its approach, the Islamacists would simply change their game to keep it stirring. Obama may be nominally Christian, but he will have been influenced strongly toward a sympathetic stance on Islam by his paternal side who is a Muslim. Last time I was in Tehran it was being openly said on State Television that Obama was Muslim himself and only practiced as a ‘Christian’ for political reasons. This is a widely held belief in the Middle East and the Ayatollahs freely proclaim that with his help Islam will soon sweep the US and bring it to the “true” faith.
It is a sad reflection of fact that most government’s in the west are now so driven by secularist agendas of marxist based socialism that they refuse to understand any historical influences and are convinced that they can “socially engineer” a new society in which slogans and labels replace truth and reality. Thus, anything they disagree with is immediately labelled “Fascist” and hysterical “rent-a-mobs” whipped into “protest”.
I suspect that the US now faces a slow decline as the hangers-on around your present President all run their own agendas and dismantle any semblance of the nation your fathers built, just as Blair and his NuLabour (Not one of them ever having been “Labourers” or even having ever done a real job) have done to the United Kingdom. I give us another fifty years at the outside and we will have ceased to exist if the current socialist trend continues.

I sincerely hope he can pull out of it quickly.
Me, too. Although I’ve only known him a short time, this is the first I’ve known him to be anything but robustly alive and cheerful.
I concur completely with your comment.
Like Seth, I lay a lot of the western world’s slide to the left on both the influence of the media, which leans in that direction way too heavily to be representative of the kind of free society to which we, as free men, subscribe, and on the gullible masses, who are largely too irresponsible to put in the time and effort necessary to see what their leaders and potential leaders are really about before going to the polls. The result? The election of entirely the wrong sort of people (socialists and worse) to place in the job of managing what are supposed to be free societies.
In the case of the U.S., we have millions of imbeciles who elected Obama and even now are singing his praise while he leads our country down the road to a state of existence in which they will find they won’t be anywhere near as happy as they presently think they’ll be.
