So, Obama Wants To “Stimulate”…

…the economy some more (?) by “creating new jobs” in the transportation infrastructure.

I swear, any moron who is still a hard and fast Obama supporter will demonstrate his/her obtuseness by arguing in favor of the president’s plan as though it would usher him/her into a great paying job.

Sorry, numb nuts, but that ain’t the reality of the thing: The only people who benefit from B. Hussein Obama’s highway, runway and other large scale construction projects are the unions that supported his election campaign.

Obama will continue to reward them for supporting him off the back of the taxpaying public, keeping the unions working while ignoring the collective copious unemployment of the average citizen who’s not union.

Obama is so transparent that whenever I hear one of his supporters rave about the “great job” he’s doing, it reaffirms my lack of faith in the prevailing intelligence of collective Americans.

In The Private Sector…

…this kind of filthy, sleazy prophylacticism generally leads to instant dismissal, and with good cause.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer demanded Friday that a reference to the state’s controversial immigration law be removed from a State Department report to the United Nations’ human rights commissioner.

The U.S. included its legal challenge to the law on a list of ways the federal government is protecting human rights.

In a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Brewer says it is “downright offensive” that a state law would be included in the report, which was drafted as part of a UN review of human rights in all member nations every four years.

Governor Brewer is absolutely right, in fact…

“The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a state of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional,” Brewer wrote.

And some actually deny that the leftists running our government are traitors!

I DID Say that I would…

…revisit Arnold Ahlert, didn’t I?

Well, here he is again, telling it like it is, no nonsense and no punches pulled.

This time, I feel compelled to post the entire column. Read it and…simmer.

“Barack Obama’s presidency is effectively over. Strong words? Ask yourself this: what other president of the United States would have spent almost three minutes speaking at the Dept. of Interior before getting around to mentioning the fact that twelve soldiers had been killed, and thirty one wounded in a massacre at Fort Hood in Texas?”

Alas, most Americans let this travesty slide down the memory hole. Thankfully, like he has with so many other unpopular positions, Barack Hussein Obama has “doubled down:” his support of the Ground Zero mosque is game, set, match.

As I wrote in my previous column, the true intentions of the mosque builders were revealed when they turned down NY Governor David Patterson’s offer of state land in return for re-locating the mosque away from Ground Zero. They refused. That this “factoid” was seemingly irrelevant to the president speaks volumes.

It is worth remembering this is the same president who belittled ordinary Americans for “clinging” to religion. I guess Muslims “clinging” to a location that infuriates the overwhelming majority of Americans is perfectly fine, even after it’s been revealed for the rankly provocative plan it truly is.

Ordinary Americans? They recognize a self-aggrandizing, holier-than-thou phony when they see one. They aren’t fooled by a president who says that, “Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground”–only seconds before he reveals the total hollowness of that statement by saying he’s fine with a mosque on top of it.

Some one must have told Mr. Obama it wasn’t flying. On Saturday, he issued a “clarifying” statement: he wasn’t commenting on the “wisdom” of putting a mosque in a particular location, but on the “right people have that dates back to our founding.”

Baloney.

Reasonable Americans aren’t demanding anything remotely resembling a ban on Islam or the ability of its adherents to worship as they please. They’re saying show some respect for American sensibilities, and don’t build a mosque adjacent to the place where a national tragedy took place–one perpetrated in the name of Islam.
I have tremendous respect for the office of the presidency. That respect has gotten me and doubtless a lot of other Americans through some pretty tough times. And as much as I’ve disliked some of the people who’ve occupied that office, I’ve always taken comfort in the fact that, when push comes to shove, every one of those men, irrespective of political ideology, had America’s best interests at heart.

No longer. For the first time in my lifetime, we have an alien in the White House.

And that doesn’t mean what some of you might think. For the purposes of this column, the “birther debate” is irrelevant. What I’m talking about is a man completely divorced from the American ethos. A man who is utterly clueless about what most Americans want, think or feel. The first president of the United States on the public record with the idea that American exceptionalism is nothing more than one item on a laundry list of national exceptionalisms–none better or worse than any other.

A man who will take America’s side–only after he’s concluded that it doesn’t conflict with his larger worldview.

Sadly, we’ve reached a point where most Americans don’t expect anything different. And why should they? This is a man up to his neck in meaningful associations with card-carrying members of the Hate America crowd–from boyhood mentor, communist Frank Marshall, and racist preacher, Jeremiah Wright, to Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn, and other rabid leftists. This is a man who has stacked his administration with a roster of radicals dedicated to the idea that America is a nation of unrepentant bigots, racists and other low-lifes who must be whipped into “progressive” shape. This is a man who learned–and taught–the “Alinsky Method,” a blueprint for the radical re-organization of America by stealth.

Why has the president doggedly kept entire parts of his life, from his early college years straight through law school, away from public view? Bet the farm it’s because any paper trail from those years would reveal this president to be the Marxist/socialist radical that occasionally breaches the “teleprompted” facade he has so carefully erected.

Last Friday, the mask slipped once again. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to point a comment directly towards the Cordoba House builders explaining that, while freedom of religion is a sacred American value, their refusal to accept an alternative site on state land offered by the governor is very troubling. He could have called their bluff and said he stands with the overwhelming majority of Americans who find such a refusal appalling. He could have said that “cultural sensitivity” is a two-way street, and that it is about time self-professed “moderate Muslims” demonstrated their moderation
.
But he didn’t. And he didn’t because, for this “citizen of the world,” the idea of “putting America first” requires considerable effort. Quite frankly, this is astounding. There is no other position in government where the idea of being “reflexively American” is more important. There is no other man in the country with the unfettered power to put American men and women in harm’s way. That fact alone requires unstinting loyalty to our nation, and an unbridled sense of patriotism.

Is that what Americans see when they look at Barack Obama? Or do they see a narcissistic, serial apologizer, a split-the-difference-with-our-enemies appeaser who golfs and parties–while America burns?

This president, along with his lap-dog media supporters, will continue to tell Americans that their anger and disgust has little or nothing to do with the shortcomings of Barack Obama. Everything wrong with the country is “someone else’s fault,” be it “racist” tea partiers, “fat cat” bankers, “greedy” doctors, “irresponsible” corporations, Republicans, or their favorite whipping boy, George W. Bush.

Sorry, Mr. Obama, no sale. You’ve done a grand job of alienating the majority of Americans all by yourself. And you know it too, or you wouldn’t have “clarified” your position on the Ground Zero mosque twenty four hours after the “real you” revealed itself.

Perhaps someday we’ll have someone in the Oval Office with a more jaundiced view of America than yours. I hope I never live to see it. And I fervently hope Americans remember exactly who you are when 2012 rolls around. We can probably muddle through two more years with a charlatan in the White House.

Heaven help America if it’s six.

As if that isn’t enough, let’s visit Always On Watch, and read about some blatantly offensive revisionist history ala B. Hussein Obama.

[Obama said:] “Islam has always been a part of America’s story.”

Indeed!

That would be the same Treaty of Tripoli that was essentially a protection racket against the United States, requiring that tribute be paid to avoid being the victim of piracy.

That would be the same John Adams who reluctantly figured that bribing the pirates of Barbary was cheaper than military engagement (out of an understanding that the political will and money for creating the necessary naval force was out of reach for the time being).

And that would be the same Thomas Jefferson who, with his great knowledge and understanding of the Koran, reversed our course and decided that military engagement against the various Muslim states engaged in piracy was the only sensible way to proceed.

And then bombarded their coastline, invaded them, and persuaded them to find a new hobby….

Heaven help America if this jamoke makes it through his FOUR without getting the boot!

Well, Lookee here

That Obama guy is really a card, I’ll tellya’!

It seems he just loves implying that he’s got all sorts of support and agreement from lots of folks who, once he’s reported their agreement with his policies, are just so surprised that he was able to read that support into things they never said or otherwise indicated.

8 of 15 Experts Consulted by Obama Administration on Offshore Drilling Were Not Informed of Moratorium–And Now Oppose It

Well, I’ll be!

Eight of the 15 experts consulted by the Interior Department for a report about oil drilling safety on the Outer Continental Shelf that was commissioned by President Barack Obama said they disagreed with the report’s call for a six-month halt on current deepwater offshore drilling operations–that was added to the text of the report without their knowledge only after they had reviewed the text. The eight experts outlined their objections in a June 8 letter to Louisiana Sens. Mary Landrieu (D) and David Vitter (R) and Gov. Bobby Jindal (R).

“A group of those named in the Secretary of Interior’s Report, ‘Increased Safety Measures for Energy Development on the Outer Continental Shelf,’ dated May 27, 2010 are concerned that our names are connected with the moratorium as proposed in the executive summary of that report,” the experts said in their letter.

“There is an implication that we have somehow agreed to or ‘peer reviewed’ the main recommendation of that report,” the eight experts wrote. “This is not the case.”

That Obama’s one guy you really have to keep an eye on, or he’ll lie your socks right out from inside your shoes.

And just think… knowing this, all kinds of “Progressives” support him to this day. I guess that means we’ve got to keep an eye on them, as well. Anyone who supports a liar…

And the rest of the article.

Like We’ve Said Before

No matter what arguments one gives, the “progressive” media cannot say, without committing to a bald-faced lie, that Barack Obama is motivated by anything other than politics.

He could care less about the economy, the oil spill, the wars…

He is all politics, all the time.

SEN. JON KYL: I met with the president in the Oval Office, just the two of us… Here’s what the president said. “The problem is,” he said, “If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

[gasps from the audience]

KYL: In other words they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with comprehensive immigration reform. I explained, “You and I have an obligation to secure the border. That’s an obligation. It also has some potentially positive benefits. You don’t have to have comprehensive immigration to secure the border, but you have to have a secure border to get comprehensive immigration reform. You may be surprised, maybe you don’t think that there’d be any more incentive, but I’m not so sure that that’s true. In any event, it doesn’t matter we’re supposed to secure the border.”

That’s why this is being done. They want to get something in return for doing their duty. And that’s—

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Chicago politics.

KYL: Yeah.

All left wing politics, all the time.

The Jackboots Of The “Obama Regime”

FCC Moves to Regulate Internet–Even Though the Law Calls for Internet to be ‘Unfettered by Federal or State Regulation’

From CSN News:

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted on Thursday to begin the formal process of bringing the Internet under greater federal control – a move sought by both President Barack Obama and FCC Chairnman Julius Genachowski–even though federal law calls for an Internet “unfettered by Federal or State regulation.”

This step comes after the federal D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals in April rebuked the FCC in its attempt to enforce a controversial regulatory doctrine called Net Neutrality, which would allow the government to prevent private Internet providers from deciding which applications to allow on their networks.

The rest is here.

Given that his cabinet members speak on behalf of his policies, I think the above speaks for itself as regards the worthiness, or lack thereof, of Barak Obama to be a President of the United States.

Obama’s Favorability Ratings

Well, it looks like Barack Obama’s popularity is plummeting not only here in the United States, but he’s not doing too well among his own people, either.

The people in Muslim countries are losing confidence in President Obama’s leadership since he gave a major outreach speech in Cairo last year, according to a worldwide poll released Thursday.

The survey by the Global Attitudes Project, a project of the Pew Research Forum, showed that Mr. Obama’s favorability ratings in Muslim countries dropped significantly from 2009 to 2010, as has support for his foreign-policy actions in the Middle East and South Asia.

Oh, well…

Down The Mississippi To The Gulf Of Mexico

Yup, and then into the oil patch, only this one a topical one, drilling pipe not included.

But don’t worry, Barack H. Obama, teeth bared and loins girded for combat, vowed during his Oval Office address to make ‘em pay, yes sir, make those evil knaves from British Petroleum pay through the nose, or else…

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama vowed on Tuesday to compel BP Plc to pay the price for its “recklessness” in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and sought to harness public outrage over the disaster for a “national mission” to cut U.S. dependence on fossil fuels.

“We will fight this spill with everything we’ve got for as long as it takes. We will make BP pay for the damage their company has caused,” Obama said in a televised address aimed at restoring confidence in his handling of the crisis before it further tarnishes his presidency.

Obama’s stern message for BP, delivered in a solemn tone, was a centerpiece of his high-stakes speech on the oil spill, which threatens to distract from his domestic agenda of reducing nearly double-digit U.S. unemployment and reforming Wall Street.

How forcefully Obama responds to America’s worst ecological disaster will have implications not only for the British energy giant but for the future of U.S. offshore drilling and for any hopes he has for rejuvenating climate change legislation stalled in Congress.

While urging Americans to “seize the moment” to break their addiction to fossil fuels, Obama’s appeal offered no detailed prescription for getting there and lacked a timetable for passing comprehensive energy legislation.

“Now is the moment for this generation to embark on a national mission to unleash American innovation and seize control of our own destiny.”

I hate to be the harbinger of reproof, here, but… While George W. Bush was in office, all we seemed to hear from the left side of the aisle, between the ladies and gentlemen over there blaming Bush for everything under the sun, was of the vital need for America to drop everything and single mindedly concentrate on finding alternatives to fossil fuels before “it” was too late; Yet since the Democrats took over both the House and the Senate and got their fearless leader into the White House, there has been nary a peep about spending any money on that “vital” goal.

Instead, we’ve had unbelievable quantities of the taxpayers’ hard earned cash, much of it in debt instruments to be paid off by said taxpayers’ children, grandchildren and their issue and issue’s issue thrown at bank and brokerage bail-outs, the nationalization purchase of auto manufacturing companies and a “stimulus” bill that has stimulated nothing but the coffers of ACORN and various other friends of the Obama Administration.

Now, suddenly, as…

NEW ORLEANS – Scientists provided a new estimate for the amount of oil gushing from the ruptured well in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday that indicates it could be leaking up to 2.52 million gallons of crude a day.

A government panel of scientists said that the ruptured well is leaking between 1.47 million and 2.52 million gallons of oil daily. The figures move the government’s worst-case estimates more in line with what an independent team had previously thought was the maximum size of the spill.

…comes to light, our dictator the president, who’s already stressing out under the pressure of two wars (he doesn’t acknowledge the war on terror, since that would mean also acknowledging that his friends and fellow Muslims are behind it), an inevitable, multi-state rout of DC Democrats, a pitched battle over illegal immigration (he’s for it, patriotic Americans are against it) and our collapsed economy, which includes rampant, depression era levels of unemployment, is striking out with a vengeance at the most visible target, BP, as though his onslaught might make the ongoing oil problem go away.

Speaking of unemployment, his infamous drilling moratorium and support of operations “elsewhere” is definitely “helping”, unfortunately not helping the taxpaying, voting Americans in Louisiana.

The six-month drilling moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico will cripple Louisiana’s economy and leave thousands of families without income, particularly in coastal Louisiana, where one in three jobs is related to the oil and natural gas industry.

In Louisiana, oil and gas production can be divided into three industries – oil and gas extraction, refineries and pipelines – which in 2005 supported more than 15 percent of the total household incomes earned in the state.

Okay, how about a statistic or two?

How much oil comes from the Gulf of Mexico?

Around 33 percent of domestic oil in the United States comes through the Gulf of Mexico;

Eighty percent of the Gulf of Mexico’s oil and 45 percent of its natural gas comes from “deepwater” operations that occur in more than 1,000 feet of water.

How many jobs does the oil and gas industry provide in Louisiana now?

The Louisiana Department of Economic Development estimates that the active drilling suspension alone will result in a loss of 3,000 to 6,000 Louisiana jobs in the first two to three weeks;

The ban could cost Louisianans more than 10,000 jobs within a few months;

The state risks losing more than 20,000 existing and potential new jobs during a 12 to 18 month period, if the federal panel takes longer than six months to do their reviews and write their reports;

Coastal Louisiana, where one in three jobs is related to the oil and gas industry, services around 90 percent of deepwater operations in the Gulf of Mexico;

The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources estimates that an average of two supply boats per rig work every day with rates of $15,000 to $30,000 a boat, which means that suspension of drilling activity will result in a nearly $1 million loss per day in supply boat rental income. Each drilling rig job supports four other jobs in local communities.

On the other hand, the moratorium does seem to be of great help to both Brazil and the “infamous” George Soros, to whom the Democrats, knowing upon which side their bread is buttered, pay homage.

Barack Obama…A Man Of Words

Yeah, our incumbent POTUS is a talker, alright.

THEODORE, Ala. – In a newly optimistic tone, President Barack Obama promised Monday that “things are going to return to normal” along the stricken Gulf Coast and the region’s fouled waters will be in even better shape than before the catastrophic BP oil spill.

He declared Gulf seafood safe to eat and said his administration is redoubling inspections and monitoring to make sure it stays that way. And his White House said Monday it had wrested apparent agreement from BP PLC to set up an independent, multibillion-dollar compensation fund for people and businesses suffering from the spill’s effects.

He declared, “I am confident that we’re going to be able to leave the Gulf Coast in better shape than it was before.”

… Sure, yeah, right, of course… Before we vote you out in November, 2012, or before?

With Obama hoping to convince a frightened Gulf Coast and a skeptical nation that he is in command, he is marshaling the tools at a president’s disposal: a two-day visit via Air Force One, helicopter and boat in the region, a prime-time speech Tuesday night from the symbolically important stage of the Oval Office and a face-to-face White House showdown Wednesday with the executives of the oil company that leased the rig that exploded April 20 and led to the leak of millions of gallons of coast-devastating crude.

From an enormous waterside staging facility here, one of 17 where cleanup crews ready themselves and equipment to attack the spill, Obama mixed optimism about the ultimate result with warnings that the recovery could take a while.

“I can’t promise folks here in Theodore or across the Gulf Coast that the oil will be cleaned up overnight. It will not be,” he said, after encouraging hard-hatted workers as they hosed off and repaired oil-blocking boom. “It’s going to be painful for a lot of folks.”

Ya’ think?

As the sentiment is expressed in an editorial in DeKalb County, Alabama’s Times Journal:

Right now, words are easy. And, in the wake of so many who are suffering from this tragedy, words do little to return Alabama’s beautiful beaches and critictal fishing industry to the norm.

Words, however, and words alone, are the sum total of the Obama product…

I Appreciate Straight Talk

Yeah, I do, and that’s why you’ll occasionally catch me posting an article from Red State, like this one.

It is becoming increasingly clear that neither Obama nor his administration nor the Democrat Congress are up to the task of governance. Yesterday we chronicled the shouting match between former MMS director Liz Birnbaum and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar that resulted in her being fired shortly before she was scheduled to testify before a Congressional subcommittee headed by the corrupt Jim Moran on the lackadaisical efforts of the administration to ameliorate the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

The ineffectualness of the administration was on display for all to see this week. Over a month after the spill began, Obama was able to take time away from his busy schedule of back to back vacations to visit the Gulf. He was there for about three hours — which would equate to about nine holes of golf — gave an insipid speech and left. And then there was this:

Perhaps you saw news footage of President Obama in Grand Isle, La., on Friday and thought things didn’t look all that bad. Well, there may have been a reason for that: The town was evidently swarmed by an army of temp workers to spruce it up for the president and the national news crews following him.

Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts, whose district encompasses Grand Isle, told Yahoo! News that BP bused in “hundreds” of temporary workers to clean up local beaches. And as soon as the president was en route back to Washington, the workers were clearing out of Grand Isle too, Roberts said.

If there was ever an appropriate metaphor for Obama’s total absence of leadership or even interest the Gulf oil spill is it. It has demonstrated both the administration’s general lack of concern about anything other than imposing a socialist agenda upon an unwilling nation and the inability of the administration to address any crisis without seeking to further its political aims.

Hopefully, November will see at least the House of Representatives freed from the thrall of these cretins and an effective regime of oversight can be imposed upon federal agencies saturated with political operatives and activists who could care less about their duty or the nation.

All I can say to that is… Amen!
