Like We’ve Said Before

No matter what arguments one gives, the “progressive” media cannot say, without committing to a bald-faced lie, that Barack Obama is motivated by anything other than politics.

He could care less about the economy, the oil spill, the wars…

He is all politics, all the time.

SEN. JON KYL: I met with the president in the Oval Office, just the two of us… Here’s what the president said. “The problem is,” he said, “If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

[gasps from the audience]

KYL: In other words they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with comprehensive immigration reform. I explained, “You and I have an obligation to secure the border. That’s an obligation. It also has some potentially positive benefits. You don’t have to have comprehensive immigration to secure the border, but you have to have a secure border to get comprehensive immigration reform. You may be surprised, maybe you don’t think that there’d be any more incentive, but I’m not so sure that that’s true. In any event, it doesn’t matter we’re supposed to secure the border.”

That’s why this is being done. They want to get something in return for doing their duty. And that’s—

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Chicago politics.

KYL: Yeah.

All left wing politics, all the time.

  1. Simeon Says:

The president can’t even get a reasonable debate out of the Republicans when it comes to immigration reform.

Maybe this is the only thing he can see to do to encourage the GOP to remember that they’re part of a larger body.

  2. Thibojeaux Says:

    Hahahahahaha!

    Simeon, Simeon.

When the Dems first took over in Congress, Nancy Pelosi actually said that now the Dems didn’t have to listen to the Republicans anymore, it was the Dems’ way or the highway.

Since Obama took office, “bipartisan” to him has meant “my way or the highway.”

If anyone’s not listening to the other party, it’s those people on the left side of the aisle.

All that aside, I don’t see how anyone can interpret what Obama told Kyl as anything but blackmailing the Republicans for political reasons, letting politics stand in the way of the security and safety of the American people.

As far as immigration reform goes, the bottom line is that there are millions of felons out there, in this country illegally, whom the Dems want to naturalize for the votes they’ll get, while spitting on all those others who are only not here because they are following the law (U.S. Law!). The ones obeying the law would have to get in line behind those who are breaking it.

    Where’s the sense in that?

    Simeon,

The president can’t even get a reasonable debate out of the Republicans when it comes to immigration reform.

One is the real economy, homeland security, the lives of the American people Obama is supposed to be serving.

    The other is pure politics.

By joining one to the other, Obama demonstrates that a: he is incapable of distinguishing between the vital and the picayune, b: he doesn’t give a damn about the state of the nation beyond his own political party or c: he could care less about the people or the country.

He’s already demonstrated that he is a liar: He swore to protect and defend the Constitution when he was elected, and has done nothing but urinate on it ever since.

Maybe this is the only thing he can see to do to encourage the GOP to remember that they’re part of a larger body.

That’s just downright inane. You’re justifying what, for a POTUS, is both immatuire and inexcusable behavior.

    Thibojeaux,

All that aside, I don’t see how anyone can interpret what Obama told Kyl as anything but blackmailing the Republicans for political reasons, letting politics stand in the way of the security and safety of the American people.

    Exactly.

  4. Harry Says:

    Simeon, me lad.

This president is the worst we’ve ever had. He even makes Carter look desireable, because at least, bumbling fool that he was, the peanut man had scruples.

    Obama has nary a one.

  5. Chuck Says:

    Harry,

    That’s for damn sure.

I think even Hillary, GOd please don’t strike me dead for saying it, would have done a better job as POTUS than this clown’s doing.
