Everybody’s Bitchin’…
…about the price of gas being over $3.00 a gallon at the pump, the cost of heating a home in winter and water year round with natural gas, and the cost of electricity going up as consumption increases, Democrats and Republicans alike. I’ve heard a vicious, nasty, ugly rumor that many on the left blame George Bush. Can you believe that? I mean, Democrats blaming Bush for something. Preposterous!
How could they? It is, after all, the Democrats who are responsible for the lion’s share of our dependence on greedy, terrorist producing countries for oil. They’re the culprits behind energy resources and capabilities laying fallow within the boundaries of U.S. territory and good old American know-how.
I ran across this spot-on commentary by Pete Du Pont in yesterday’s (30 July 07) Opinion Journal, titled Just Drill, Baby that literally brims over with information.
America’s domestic oil production is declining, importation of oil is rising, and gasoline is more expensive. The government’s Energy Information Administration reports that U.S. crude oil field production declined to 1.9 billion barrels in 2005 from 3.5 billion in 1970, and the share of our oil that is imported has increased to 60% from 27% in 1985. The price of gasoline has risen to $3.02 this month from $2 in today’s dollars in 1985.
Washington politicians will tell you this is an “energy crisis,” but America’s energy challenges are far more political than substantive.
First, we are not running out of oil. In 1920 it was estimated that the world supply of oil was 60 billion barrels. By 1950 it was up to 600 billion, and by 1990 to two trillion. In 2000 the world supply of oil was estimated to be three trillion barrels.
I can testify, personally, on the heady days of the late 1970s, when I worked in the offshore “oil patch” for awhile out of Louisiana. I say “heady” because every other week was seven days of party time on “the beach” (in Nawlins) between weeks on the rigs. Back then there was an oil boom in the Gulf of Mexico. Somewhere in the very early 1980s, the oil companies capped most of the wells in favor of keeping our domestic oil in reserve and buying from the Arabs.
Depending on the Mooslims for our main sources of energy and transportation fuel is pretty dumb when there are alternatives. Lately, OPEC went so far as to cap the amount of oil they produce in order to keep prices up.
And there are alternatives.
The U.S. has substantial supplies of oil and gas that could be accessed if lawmakers would allow it, but they frequently don’t. A National Petroleum Council study released last week reports that 40 billion barrels of America’s “recoverable oil reserves are off limits or are subject to significant lease restrictions”–half inshore and half offshore–and similar restrictions apply to more than 250 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. (We consume about 22 trillion cubic feet a year.)
Access to the 10 billion barrels of oil in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Reserve has been prohibited for decades. Some 85 billion barrels of recoverable oil and 420 trillion cubic feet of natural gas exist on the Outer Continental Shelf, but a month ago the House again, as it did last year, voted down an amendment that would have allowed the expansion of coastal drilling for oil and natural gas. All of which leaves the U.S. as the only nation in the world that has forbidden access to significant sources of domestic energy supplies.
Just as we’re the only country on earth that permits rampant violation of our borders and permits our immigration laws to be made a mockery of, we are the only nation in the world that has forbidden access to significant sources of domestic energy supplies.
Then there are all the other energy ideas Congress wishes to adopt–better energy efficiency for washers, driers, boilers, motors and refrigerators; greater fuel efficiency for cars; and more use of wind, solar and geothermal power generation. Good ideas all–especially more fuel-efficient automobiles–but not substantively or immediately very helpful in meeting the challenge of increasing America’s energy supplies to keep our economy, jobs and prosperity increasing.
To do that we must build many more nuclear power plants and increase our drilling for oil and gas. The NPC report says it takes 15 to 20 years from exploration until production begins, and it costs $3 billion to build an average 120,000-barrel-a-day oil refinery. That is just the opposite of the current congressional policy of reducing oil use, blocking access to existing domestic oil reserves, not increasing nuclear power generation, and touting ethanol as another subsidy for farmers.
Ah, ethanol, ahem…
I’ve already posted on the reality behind the ethanol lie in the past. Evidently, Mr. Du Pont feels the same way I do about it.
Oil, natural gas and nuclear power are the indispensable energy resources to insure the prosperity of America’s economy. But that is not what the congressional leadership thinks. So if we mustn’t drill offshore for oil or natural gas, or build nuclear power plants, what is the politically correct action Congress intends to take?
Increasing ethanol subsidies for farmers is at the top of the list. Ethanol is a politically hot energy substance produced from crops like corn, soybeans, sunflowers and switch grass. Current law requires 7.5 billion gallons to be produced by 2012; the new Senate bill would increase that to 36 billion by 2022.
But ethanol is not a good gasoline substitute. It takes some seven gallons of oil to produce eight gallons of corn-based ethanol–diesel fuel for the tractors to plant and harvest the corn, pesticides to protect it, and fuel for trucks to transport the ethanol around the country. So there is not much energy gain, nor with all the gasoline involved does it help with global warming by reducing carbon dioxide emissions. And ethanol yields one-third less energy per gallon than gasoline, so that mileage per gallon of ethanol-blended auto fuel is less than gasoline mileage.
Ethanol is a politically popular subsidized product. Producers get a 51-cent-a-gallon subsidy and are protected from international ethanol imports by a 2.5% tariff and an ethanol import duty of 54 cents a gallon. These subsidies have brought more than 100 American ethanol refineries into operation, and another six dozen are going to be built, which has nearly doubled the price of corn, raised the cost of beef and other corn-fed livestock, and increased the cost of milk and corn syrup for soft-drink manufacturers.
(Above emphasis mine, though I will add that I disagree with Mr. Du Pont’s intimation regarding man’s activities having any effect on climate change, ie nor with all the gasoline involved does it help with global warming by reducing carbon dioxide emissions, though the Goremongers might give it some thought)
It’s quite obvious that the reason a large number of these people we elect to the Senate and the House pursue lifelong careers in politics is because they wouldn’t last a week in the private sector…at least as businessmen and businesswomen. Corporate shareholders wouldn’t stand for being bankrupted by incompetents the way we Americans tolerate these idiots bankrupting our country, creating unnecessary inflation and squandering our taxes.

Another Spot-On…
…Mark Steyn column addresses the jobs Britons won’t do.
Does government health care inevitably lead to homicidal doctors who can’t wait to leap into a flaming SUV and drive it through the check-in counter? No. But government health care does lead to a dependence on medical staff imported from other countries.
(Truncating)
When the president talks about needing immigrants to do “the jobs Americans won’t do,” most of us assume he means seasonal fruit pickers and the maid who turns down your hotel bed and leaves the little chocolate on it. But in the United Kingdom the jobs Britons won’t do has somehow come to encompass the medical profession.
This particular set of chickens has come home to roost by unwitting invitation courtesy of Britain’s socialized medicine institution, the National Health Service, the same sort of program our very own Democrats would love to see inflicted upon We, the American People.
Aneurin Bevan, the socialist who created the National Health Service after World War II, was once asked to explain how he’d talked the country’s doctors into agreeing to become state employees: “I stuffed their mouths with gold,” he crowed. Sixty years later, no amount of gold can persuade Britons to spend their working lives in the country’s dirty, decrepit hospitals (they spend enough of their nonworking lives there, waiting to be seen, waiting for beds, waiting for operations). According to a report in the British Medical Journal, white males comprise 43.5 percent of the population but now account for less than a quarter of students at UK medical schools. In other words, being a doctor is no longer an attractive middle-class career proposition. That’s quite a monument to six decades of Michael Moore-style socialist health care.
Anyway, read the entire column, it’s on point and conveys a predilection of what we can expect from a like health care situation here in the United States. It’s what happens when government takes over what should remain a marketplace managed industry.
Of course, Mark Steyn has a flair for hitting the proverbial nail right on the head.
In his book America Alone, he details other demographic details of socialist Europe that are already being manifest in the news, such as this item, which the U.S. will eventually echo if we continue to subscribe to the Democrats’ birth control at all costs and damn the torpedos baby murdering abortion agendas.
And yet, as is forever the case, one of the greatest shortcomings of the American left is that they are totally incapable of learning from the mistakes of the socialist EU countries, who continuously provide us with perfect examples of what not to do and why, insisting instead upon forcing us to make the same tragic errors. They apparently believe that what fails miserably elsewhere will be a sure success here.
Go figure.

This Column…
…is an echo of my own belief on the subject.
Americans are flush with success over killing comprehensive immigration reform. Good for us–but. Do you wonder how it got as far as it did? How did a Congress with a 14% approval rating–the lowest recorded by Gallup since they began polling in 1973–get to a point where they were poised to defy the overwhelming sentiment of those who elected them?
The answer is simple: we keep re-electing them.
It’s a short column, read the whole thing.

Before I Link A Seriously Must-Read…
…commentary by Norman Podhoretz {that’s right, Norman — back in New York, pronounced Nawmin}, I must remark upon the free time I now have to really spend some hours in the blogosphere. It’s great!
On the bummer side, having a lot more time to spend reading the comment sections of various other right thinking blogs often means getting to read comments by liberals, some sincere left thinkers, some genuinely misinformed portsiders and some simply trolls that haunt certain blogs to garner attention as they disagree with anything and everything the blogger and his/her regular commenters say, no matter what.
It’s only a bummer because one is reminded that there are millions of voters in this country whose views on important issues mirror those harbored by the mainstream media and the many liberals that infest Congress. No matter how much hard, in-your-face evidence is produced that refutes positions they endorse, these folks won’t stray an inch from the leftist party line.
They worship the man-made global warming myth, ready to throw their support behind completely unnecessary and useless measures that would deal our economy a devastating blow. While it would hurt as many of them as anyone else in the United States, it wouldn’t bother the rich folks like Al Gore who serve as the high priests of this most spectacular con in the history of the earth.
They utterly refuse to believe that there are Islamofascists who want to kill us, and deny that the War on Terror is anything more than a bumper sticker phrase. Regardless of all the terrorist attacks against Americans from Carter’s Teheran embassy adventure through 9/11 and the variety of terrorist ops that have more recently taken place in Europe and elsewhere around the world and the stated intentions of terrorist leaders like Osama bin Laden, these total simpletons and general purpose fools people just go about their lah-di-dah Utopian lives, assuming that there are no differences of any kind that can’t be solved by a diplomatic embrace with perhaps some capitulation thrown in.
They are so short sighted and moronic that they fail to see why amnesties awarded millions of illegal aliens would massively damage our economy (here I will sorrowfully include a shameful number of name-only Republicans and the President himself).
What a deal! They promote widespread poverty, a smashed economy and a suicide bomber on every corner.
Wait, a suicide bomber falls under the heading of “Applied Islam”.
Moving right along, the column by Norman Podhoretz I referred to above has to be the best and most insightful analysis, by far, of the ongoing Iran nuke kerfuffle I’ve read yet.
Although many persist in denying it, I continue to believe that what Sept 11, 2001, did was to plunge us headlong into nothing less than another world war. I call this new war World War IV, because I also believe that what is generally known as the Cold War was actually World War III, and that this one bears a closer resemblance to that great conflict than it does to World War II. Like the Cold War, as the military historian Eliot Cohen was the first to recognize, the one we are now in has ideological roots, pitting us against Islamofascism, yet another mutation of the totalitarian disease we defeated first in the shape of Nazism and fascism and then in the shape of communism; it is global in scope; it is being fought with a variety of weapons, not all of them military; and it is likely to go on for decades.
What follows from this way of looking at the last five years is that the military campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq cannot be understood if they are regarded as self-contained wars in their own right. Instead we have to see them as fronts or theaters that have been opened up in the early stages of a protracted global struggle. The same thing is true of Iran. As the currently main center of the Islamofascist ideology against which we have been fighting since 9/11, and as (according to the State Department’s latest annual report on the subject) the main sponsor of the terrorism that is Islamofascism’s weapon of choice, Iran too is a front in World War IV. Moreover, its effort to build a nuclear arsenal makes it the potentially most dangerous one of all.
The foregoing summary has been more than enough for an entire column, but constitutes merely the tip of an iceberg.
I’ll leave it to you folks to read the rest of the article, but I want to block quote something that should stand out to every reader as the perfect definition of the threat that Iran’s leaders present to the non-Muslim world.
…Nor are they inhibited by a love of country:
We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah. For patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land [Iran] burn. I say let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world.
These were the words of the Ayatollah Khomeini, who ruled Iran from 1979 to 1989, and there is no reason to suppose that his disciple Ahmadinejad feels any differently.
Ahmadmanjihad wants desperately to get his nukes in a row so he can Armaggedonize his way to glory in the annals of Islam, even if it means the vaporization of himself and his country.
Remember the intense footage and emotion charged reporting we saw on 11 September 2001 when we turned on our TVs en route to the coffee maker? Imagine turning on the TV one morning soon to an announcement that “approximately 6 hours ago, U.S. Stealth aircraft dropped nuclear cluster bombs on targets in Iran…” and seeing video of multiple mushroom clouds in the distance.
That could well happen….

The Global Warming Issue…
… is the greatest farce in the history of life on earth. A hundred million people believe it.
It’s a cartoon that has somehow melded with reality in the consciousness of people all over the world. It’s embraced by, as a favorite novelist (Jack Higgins/ Harry Patterson) would say, the great and the good, world leaders, millions of naive, stupid or simply incredibly gullible people, the mainstream media, etcetera, etcetera.
Parasitic creatures from the septic tank of human life like Al Gore make great profits on the global warming scam while scientists who attempt to tell the truth are stifled and/or ruined.
In the last couple of decades, the far left has completely taken over the public education system and secured their indoctrinal empire within our universities. While they indoctrinate students, the MSM shapes and spins “the news”, omitting important details and reporting via politically biased, inaccurate accounts of events. So much the MSM reports as news is fiction.
They force the global warming agenda on Americans at every level, from school to the evening news, and are believed because the majority of Americans trust the media to deliver accurate news. For most people, the argument that they are being misinformed on so large a scale is met with a humoring smile or a shake of the head. No way!
Back a few months, when the last big GW kerfuffle exploded onto headsheets and dominated alphabet network propaganda news, I spent a lot of time visiting scores of blogs and so-called “scientific” websites that came down on one side or the other of the global warming argument. What stood out most was that on the Chicken Little side, no scientific facts were presented anyplace that supported the GW argument. It was a 100% consensus bit, while the Other (the right) Side oozed scientific evidence that supremely dampened the Gorehouse agenda.
Want the truth?
I erupt into some achingly powerful bouts of laughter while listening to, reading or otherwise ingesting global warming idiocy from the left. But then, I’m the kind of conservative who will tell a liberal that, “No, I haven’t eaten tuna in awhile. Ever since they took out that delicious dolphin flavoring, it hasn’t been the same.”
Okay. Sh-t! C’mon, Seth, shut up! Be at least a tiny bit PC!
Sorry, I can’t, PC just isn’t in me. However….
I once took the time to debate mongers and dupes of man-made global warming, then quit when I learned that these specimens could argue for hours without presenting a single piece of viable evidence. I couldn’t care less if eleven percent of haberdashers in the South Sandwich Islands believe that man-made CO2 is dooming our planet or a former Soviet politician is seeking his fortune as an Algore butt-muncher.
Butcha’ know, the entire GW affair amounts to nothing more than stupidity-based politics.
In more recent months, I came to the great discovery that the easiest way to keep up on the Global Warming con is to visit AB FREEDOM.
AB is on it like flies on —
He keeps up what might be called a running journal of specifics, article by article, letting facts speak for themselves. Damn, I envy him the time….
…Just kidding….

Muslims Seek Their Own Holocaust Victimhood
So opines (and from my POV quite rightly) Julia Gorin in a thought provoking column.
An excerpt, in some quoted text that opens the article,
At the Tenth Islamic Summit Conference Putrajaya, Malaysia on October 16, 2003 the host President, Mohammed Mahathir called on the world’s Islam to seize on opportunities and develop a doctrine that can allege persecution of Islam under fictitious pretexts…“There may be windows of opportunity for us now and in the future. We must seize these opportunities.”
These Islamic folk are a strange people, they actual revel in dying in order to obey the murderous commandments of the satanic bible Koran, and in taking large quantities of fellow Muslims with them. They slaughter fellow Muslims, men, women and children alike, in far greater numbers than they do those they call enemy, in the name of their death cult religion, both collaterally and because others are of different Islamic sects.
And they have discovered the most powerful weapon to use to bring down our free society from within: Guilt, when it is delivered with a link to victimhood. We allow them to browbeat their way into our judicial and political systems via liberal courts, with the help of portside politicians, the MSM, the ACLU and their own Hamas P.R. firm, CAIR.
And are they ever determined to be victims!
The column is definitely worth a complete read.
I get a major kick out of the way Julia sums things up,
To sum up, what galls the Muslim world is the excrutiatingly slow pace of the genocide against them. This would explain why they help the numbers along by killing themselves during their missions.
The agenda outlined in this post also accounts for the parallel Muslim efforts toward a reverse approach: Holocaust denial. The mentality is: “If I can’t have a holocaust, NOBODY can!”

A Couple Of Misguided Lefties…
…(which portsiders aren’t misguided?) get their due herein, one, a punk (I truly cannot locate, after much thought, a more accurate descriptive) whose celebre eminates from among the columns of the New York Times, from his fellow Democrat and undoubtedly the best former mayor New York has seen in my lifetime despite his political career having been spent on that side of the aisle, the other, a braying, disgusting, megablubbery, smelly looking, treasonous pig comedienne cum TV personality, from one of the more aggressive right thinking political commentators of today.
First, there is Koch on Kristof.
The hostile views that Nicholas Kristof expresses in his March 18, 2007 column correspond with those held by former president Jimmy Carter.
Kristof is distressed that the Democratic Party leadership is too supportive of the State of Israel. He says that he prefers the view of U.S. Senator and presidential candidate Barak Obama who recently stated, “Nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people,” for which he says Obama was “scolded.”
Kristof does not mention that Palestinian suffering has in large part been brought on by the Palestinians’ own actions. Their leaders rejected the United Nations vote in 1947 dividing historic Palestine into two states: one Arab and one Jewish. They supported or actively participated in at least seven wars against Israel: the 1948 War of Independence, the 1967 Six-Day War, the 1968 War of Attrition, the 1973 Yom Kippur War, the 1982 Lebanon War [1] and the 2006 Lebanon War [2]. Their leadership declared two intifadas (insurrections) in 1987 and in 2002, which still goes on.
Imagine that! Another liberal who is comfortable with ignoring the facts in order to press a political agenda. Of course, he and his fellow members of the anti-Israel persuation have no choice but to employ the communistic technique of sweeping the truth under the rug in order to replace it with propaganda for consumption by the masses. If you simply gloss over the realities, you don’t have to work all that hard at revising history, modern or otherwise — sort of like lefty teachers do in schools these days, but let’s not digress, for once (that means you, Seth).
Kristof denounces Israel’s building “a better fence” or seeking “more weaponry.” What does he mean? That in his opinion Israel may not erect a fence to help keep the terrorists out? Does he suggest that the U.S. should deny the sale of new weapons to Israel unless it also makes them available to the Palestinians? Kristof’s tortured reasoning led to the fall of the Spanish Republic to which we would not sell arms to defend itself from Franco’s fascist armies which were supported by Hitler and Mussolini.
Liberals, who yearn desperately for the implementation of that provenly oppressive failure called socialism to “come to our rescue”, never miss an opportunity to opine that any and all democracies should bend over backwards to sabotage themselves in the face of the enemy. Thus the leeches over at the ACLU, for example, are forever using the courts in an attempt to erode the security measures the United States Government takes to repel terrorism from our shores, and the liberal anti-Israel crowd demands that the Jewish state tie their own hands and that the U.S. turn our backs on them in order to allow the forces of their terrorist enemy to destroy them.
Kristof clearly wants the U.S. and the Democrats seeking the presidency to end what every president since John F. Kennedy has called “a special relationship” with Israel — that of an ally — and create a new climate of neutrality. Even the Arabs have accepted that special U.S. relationship with Israel; nevertheless, they have asked the U.S. to take the role of mediator/broker, knowing that only the U.S. would be able to get Israel to make concessions based on hopes and promises rather than concrete confidence-building measures by the Palestinians and their supporters.
Emphasis mine.

The second subject of conservative OpEd attention is a truly twisted soul who is the epitome of ugliness inside and out, and who embodies treason in a most abrasive and wingnutty way, from a forum that used to be (prior to her arrival) a light hearted, acceptable-to-all political groups, womens’ talk show.
Here is O’Reilly on O’Donnell.
Armed with propaganda and dangerous with passion, Rosie O’Donnell has turned a morning coffee klatch TV program into Al Jazeera West. Where once “The View” dealt with menopause and shopping tips, the program now routinely assassinates the characters of anyone Ms. O’Donnell finds objectionable….
All I can say about O’Donnell is that I find her to be one of the most offensive, disgusting TV personalities in existence and one who truly doesn’t merit citizenship in our great nation. I really don’t like to say derogatory things about women (no chauvenism intended, just a conservative Jewish upbringing and a profound appreciation and respect for the female of our species) but that horrible creature is a real toilet cake.
To that end, Thespis also has a thing or two to say regarding O’Donnell that aren’t exactly rosie (pun intended)…

Ahmadmanjihad’s Effective Strategy
In engaging his full scale Holocaust denial campaign (even to the extent of having held his global conference on the subject earlier this week), the Iranian president is embacing a multifaceted and highly effective strategy that demonstrates he is, indeed, no dummy (or perhaps he is, and the leaders of certain western countries are just dumber than he is), according to an on-point analysis by megaperceptive columnist Caroline Glick.
So why is the guy who is gunning for a new Holocaust belittling the last one?
First of all, by doing so he empowers those Germans and friends of Germany who carried it out. By denying the Holocaust Ahmadinejad turns the Nazis into victims and so provides a space for them to express themselves after a sixty year silence. Indeed, in Germany neo-Nazism is a burgeoning political and social force that proudly parades its links to Iran.
The German fascist party NPD’s followers demonstrated in support of Iran at the World Cup in Germany last spring. This week, Der Spiegel reported that attacks against Jewish children have increased markedly in recent years. Jewish children and their non-Jewish friends have been humiliated in anti-Semitic rituals unheard of since the Nazi era. “Jew” has become one of the most prevalent derogatory terms in use in Germany today.
Iran’s adoption of Holocaust denial as an official, defiant policy gives legitimacy to this striking phenomenon. This is especially the case since Iran is blaming the Jews for silencing these poor fascists. In his same letter to Merkel Ahmadinejad wrote, “The perpetual claimants against the great people of Germany are the bullying Zionists that funded the Al Quds Occupying Regime with the force of bayonets in the Middle East.”
of course does not limit his efforts to the Nazis. He is also setting the cognitive conditions for the annihilation of Israel for the international Left by presenting Israel’s existence as a direct result of the Holocaust. As Iran’s Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki said this week, “If the official version of the Holocaust is thrown into doubt, then the identity and nature of Israel will be thrown into doubt.”
In short, Iran views Holocaust denial as a strategic propaganda tool. By downgrading the Holocaust, Iran mobilizes supporters and paralyzes potential opponents. Its coupling of the last Holocaust with the one it signals daily it intends to carry out, wins it support among the Nazis and the Sunnis alike. Its presentation of the Holocaust as a myth used to exploit Muslims wins its support in the international Left which increasingly views Israel as an illegitimate state. So by denying the Holocaust Iran raises its leadership profile both regionally and globally.
Indeed, even if the Left doesn’t buy into Holocaust denial, it can still agree with Iran’s conclusion that Israel has no right to exist. As Mottaki explained, “If during this [Holocaust denial conference] it is proved that the Holocaust was a historical reality, then what is the reason for the Muslim people of the region and the Palestinians having to pay the cost of the Nazis’ crimes?”
Truncating,
Merkel and her fellow Germans have spent an inordinate amount of time over the past three years condemning the Nazi Holocaust. This week they even organized a special Holocaust condemning conference in response to the Iranian Holocaust denying conference.
over the same time period, they have conducted negotiations with Teheran as part of the EU-3 that have enabled Iran to continue its nuclear progress; obstructed US efforts to levy sanctions on Iran; and maintained active trade relations with Iran. Merkel’s government has continued the practice of providing loan guarantees to German firms doing business with Iran. In 2005, German-Iranian trade stood at about $5 billion.
Now, after three years of disastrous negotiations with the mullahs, Germany has finally come around to supporting the European draft sanctions resolution against Iran being debated in the UN Security Council. The problem is that the proposed sanctions are so weak that they will have no impact on Iran’s ability to move on with its nuclear bomb program. The obvious fact that the sanctions will have no impact on Iran has not made a dent in Merkel’s refusal to support military action against Iran under any circumstances - a refusal she reiterated while standing next to Israel’s Prime Minister on Tuesday.
Yeah, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, that completely clueless waste of skin who is as much a threat to the future of Israel as is the Iranian President.
Olmert was apparently too busy admitting that Israel has nuclear weapons only to take back his admission hours later, absurdly praising Russian President Vladimir for his opposition to the “nuclearlization of Iran” which Putin is actively promoting, and promising to give Judea and Samaria to Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas to take issue with Merkel’s statement. And that is a pity, because by taking issue with it, he would have gone far towards destroying the effectiveness of Iran’s Holocaust denial strategy.

Julia Gorin On George Clooney
While I am beginning my book review on We Were One and had intended to make it my next post, I simply must share this great Julia Gorin OpEd I found in yesterday’s JWR Political Mavens, in which she gives, generousy, her take, as a woman, on actor/traitor George Clooney.

“Discrimination”? Or Common Sense?
As usual, Mona Charen, another of the great women of conservatism, good insight and common sense, weighs in on point.
It is better to err….
These liberals who go about their la-de-dah way believing that everyone has our best interests at heart and believe what CAIR tells them will one day get us, and themselves, blown to smithereens.
More spot-on commentary on this incident can be found over at the Big Dog’s place.
