LOL!
First Democrats were “threatening” to leave the country if George Bush was reelected, now a Democrat, a former Clinton aide no less, is threatening to leave the country if Hillary gets elected President.
Political strategist Dick Morris is so disgusted by the prospect of a Hillary Clinton presidency that he’s announced he’ll leave the country if she wins the Democratic nomination.
Appearing on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity & Colmes,” Morris – a former aide to President Bill Clinton – said that Bill and Hillary both suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder: “When they don’t get enough attention, they’re disordered.”
Go figure….

Seth,
In the remote chance that HC wins election, I trust Mr. Morris doesn’t intend to live in
France (spit)!
December 19th, 2006 at 4:02 pm
I don’t think Mr. Morris ever did like Madam Hillary.
December 19th, 2006 at 6:17 pm
Me thinks Mr. Morris has had a rough time with these … ahem .. people in the past.

You never know, LOL. If he was affiliated with the Clintons, it’s possible.
My only reservation on that score is that Hillary’s book (and obvious opinion) that It takes a village, which is a pure socialist attitude, might possibly not appeal to Morris.
Perhaps his real entity is that of a conservative Democrat, and he learned too much about the leftism of the Clintons while employed by them to have any respect for their treasonous intentions.
France (spit!) would be an extreme change of pace for any American.
Shoprat –
I think you’re right. If it hadn’t been for Hillary, there would have been no President Clinton. I think Hillary is a disagreeable, abrasive, spoiled bitch who tends to get her way at the misfortune of others.
AB –
I think we’re all unfortunate that there even is a Hillary.

Listening to Michael Medved today, apparently Alan Dershowitz was at the White House Menorah lighting/dinner, and has stated that he is moving away from the left. Can’t remember if he is coming out with a book stating how he’s moved from left to right.

I sincerely hope some folks are setting a precedent for patriotism, here. G-d knows the folks presently on the left side of the aisle know nothing on the subject.
A menorah lighting sounds great to me!

I’ve had some good comments regarding HC and her run ‘at’ the Democratic nomination vs her national electability. Most folks believe she will have to move too far left to gain the liberal support needed in the primary and that will hurt her when the national election comes around because people would remember her far left rhetoric. I believe that will be a liability for most liberal Democrats - they have to move far left to stimulate the base. Let’s hope this analysis proves accurate come Jan ‘09.

Old Soldier –
I believe that’s an accurate reading, though I don’t know how much trust she’ll actually get from the far left — she seems to follow the wind wherever it blows and takes a permanent position on nothing. I think the liberals who support her will be those who are profoundly fickle and those who don’t follow politics at all.
December 20th, 2006 at 9:02 am
If Hillary gets elected, I won’t be able to tolerate watching the news–especially press conferences.
Now, can she win? I don’t think so, but Dems know how to unite, even if the candidate is one whom they don’t like.
December 20th, 2006 at 9:39 am
Seth,
Speaking of threatening to leave the country, I recall you mentioning moving to some island in the south Caribbean. Now that Russ Feingold has
pulled out, perhaps you will stay stateside?
December 20th, 2006 at 9:55 am
I think it may come down to HC and Obama. The mainstream media will treat both with tenderness, of course - but Obama’s liberal record (pro partial birth abortion for instance) and Hillary’s nasty personality should make them easy targets.
December 20th, 2006 at 11:03 am
AOW –
I think Old Soldier hit the nail on the head. She’ll end up having to pander to the far left, and at the end of the day, she won’t make it.
BB –
I actually would like to stay in Charlotte and live in my house, but the offer that is inspiring my relocation is simply too generous to pass up.
Mallot –
Welcome.
…Obama’s liberal record (pro partial birth abortion for instance) and Hillary’s nasty personality should make them easy targets.
I think you’re right that they would be easy targets, especially Hillary — she flip-flops on her “stances” on issues, she’s just more subtle about it than John Kerry, our new and unappointed ambassador to the MidEast; She does it over long periods rather than every other week, depending upon where she thinks the votes are. In so doing, she isolates those interests with whom she previously “agreed”. Obama simply makes Utopian promises, like all liberal politicians, that he can’t keep, and I agree, the abortion issue would hurt him.
I was reading that Planned Parenthood has shut down a lot of facilities in the last few years, which may be an indicator that the public is gradually becoming more pro-life, and this could pretty much doom anybody who runs on a pro-abortion platform.
December 20th, 2006 at 12:35 pm
First, I don’t think she can be elected because of her catch 22 between having to satisfy libs to get the nomination and moderates to win the election. Though the temptation to leave would be great IF she were elected the will as an American who could not stand to sit by and allow this dangerous liberal to destroy my country without speaking out would keep me here for the fight!
December 20th, 2006 at 12:57 pm
Seth,
Your thought “public is gradually becoming more pro-life, and this could pretty much doom anybody who runs on a pro-abortion platform.”
is a bit of a two-edged sword. For example at
http://www.surveyusa.com/50State2005/50StateAbortion0805SortedbyProChoice.htm
we find many states (including several that went for Bush) tend pro-choice. A major stickler we find on further exploration, is the “reason” for
permitting abortion; there is very little support, for example, for using it as a birth
control procedure. I was a little surprised that
both men and women are 80% pro-choice when a deformed fetus is involved. But it remains a tricky area for politicians if they seek votes beyond the single-issue evangelical base. So I would guess that an anti-choice platform might not be too successful either. Particularly in light of the S. Dakota voter overturn of their legislative action last year. Keep in mind, there are fine folk who would love a Creationist platform, a Balance-the-Budget platform, a Nuke
Islamofacist platform…ad infinitum. Darn platforms can be an anchor as well as a goal..

Oh My!! This beat’s all lol.

The distinction, I think, is the extent. Folks like Obama advocate abortion on demand, including late term. This would seem to be the same for most liberal Democrats, which these days constitutes most members of that once great party since they have to arse creep far left liberals to get votes.
Most people who favor pro-choice, on the other hand, apparently have enough moral fiber to draw a line somewhere.
Marie –
Doesn’t it, though?
My answer to all the liberals who threaten to leave the country if somebody or other is elected President is: “Air France, ASAP!”.
December 20th, 2006 at 9:00 pm
I hate to throw cold water on the party. But as much as we think the Hill woman can’t win, we also thought we would not lose the Congress in 2006.
Things may get worse before they get better.
As for Dick Morris. I hope he doesn’t leave the country. I’ve enjoyed his columns and tv appearances.
Maybe he just made that remark in the same way that Democrats “promised” to move if Bush was re-elected.
December 20th, 2006 at 9:21 pm
Mike –
At this stage of my life, nothing surprises me any more. Though I doubt Hillary can win the presidency, you’re right, we didn’t expect the election results we got either.
As far as Morris’ vow to leave if Hillary is elected, it seems like the vow to leave America if someone is elected is becoming fashionable among liberals.
Personally, I could adapt to having 100 Dick Morrises around infinitely more easily than a single Hillary as President.

Funny you should mention that, on my venture across the blogosphere this evening I told someone I forget now who there is a plane leaving for France every 30 minutes lol.

If it’s a liberal you’re telling that to, you need to add, “Be on it.”
After all, it has occurred to me numerous times that it would save them all a lot of trouble if they just moved to France instead of trying so hard to turn the U.S. into its twin.
December 21st, 2006 at 7:06 am
I pray to God that Hillary doesn’t win the presidency Seth! I’d want to leave the country too, but as a conservative where would I go? I mean, what’s left? Europe is completely out of the question. South America? Not on your life! Looks like I’m stuck in Texas regardless of who wins. 2008 is going to be very scary!
December 21st, 2006 at 8:10 am
Gayle –
2008 will be the same thrill one might experience when one has just bet the deed to ones home on a single number at the roulette table, LOL.
I don’t think she’ll make it, and not only because of what I wrote in my above reply to/ agreement with Old Soldier’s comment, but also because I believe that once the voting public has had two years of sampling what the new congressional Democrat majority has in store for us, the GOP will make a fast comeback, up to and including the Presidency. I really don’t expect to see a Democrat in the White House for at least two more terms, though I think a lot will depend on how Bush deals with the Dems over the next two years.
December 21st, 2006 at 9:34 am
Looks like I’m stuck in Texas regardless of who wins.
Gayle…I seriously doubt the libs would complain much if Texas seceded from blue America. In fact, they’d probably demand it! They already see Texas as a separate country.
December 21st, 2006 at 6:48 pm
Wordsmith –
I thought Texas always wanted to secede anyway, LOL.
