Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (R-FL), wrote a response to Ahmed Bedier, head of the Tampa Chapter of Council of American-Islamic Relations regarding their pressure to have her condemn Hernando County Commissioner Tom Hogan’s wife, Mary Ann for her remarks in a letter to their local newspaper that Islam is a “hateful, frightening religion”. The Hogans have experienced a political fallout replete with criticisms from CAIR as well as from Gov. Jeb Bush.

If we had a whole lot more Republicans in Congress like Ginny-Brown Waite, we might well have retained our majority on Tuesday. We can only hope that her actions serve as an inspiration to other Republicans on the Hill.

I just watched the video provided by Always on Watch, and WOW, did they slant the story. First of all, did you see how they provided a “long” list of “non-Muslim” terrorists? They flashed a list of over a dozen names very quickly, one name I caught was Eric Klebold! This was one of the Columbine school shooters! He was NOT a terrorist, he was a mass murderer who killed for the sake of killing! I’ve a mind to write to the news station and slam them for this piece. Another thing I saw is when they asked Congresswoman Brown-Waite about how she is going to “educate” her constituency about the “peacefulness of Islam” she said something about the moderate Muslims, then they cut her off!
The media is complicit in whitewashing Islam. They should be more concerned about government employees on the tax dollar being used in a religious activity. Where the hell is the ACLU???

It’s too bad she has more “balls” than even GWB when it comes to addressing Islam as a threat to our entire civilization.

The MSM will be the MSM. They will be the undoing of Americans who trust them as a primary source of information.
As I said in my comment at your place, I believe that prosecution is in order for whoever in the Florida state govt approved the use of state employees for Ramadan functions.
This is total BS, our media and most of our politicians, including the Bushs, are kissing butt on the selfsame people who want to murder us, deprive us of our liberty and destroy our very way of life.
The ACLU is a communist organization, they would like nothing better than to bring down the U.S. Govt and our entire political system. They are really ignorant, like liberals everywhere, because an Islamic victory would ensure their destruction as well.
Ginny Brown-Waite is one of us, a true patriot and a true American.

Well I just wrote an email to her (of which she will not reply since I’m not her constituent) but I just wanted to send her a note of appreciation and encouragement.
I also wrote to the Florida tv station which did that crappy piece. I gave them an “F” for journalistic quality and told them why.
We need more people like her in our government. I should also write a letter to Jeb Bush and ask him what the hell is he doing, allowing gov. employees to be used in a religious activity. Bullsh*t!!!

She might reply to you just because you agree with what is perceived as an unpopular (un-PC?) stance on her part, but is important re the survival of our country.
I plan to send her an email as well. As far as I’m concerned, she is awesome.
I am disgusted with the Bush family — they were great post 2000, but since we reelected Dubya, they’ve been spineless, and had their faces buried deep between the buttocks of Islamofascism.
They have sold us out.

What most impressed me about her letter was that she combined passion with reasoned argument that kept the key issues in the fore at all time without resorting to shrill name-calling or other cheap rhetorical abominations. This is one of the best piece of authorship from a politician I’ve seen in a long time. She should have a great future ahead of her.

I agree. Her letter was well thought out and, while polite and reserved, stated her position in such a way as to render moot any rebuttal CAIR might offer in reply.
She now joins Elizabeth Dole (my great senator), and Tom Tancredo on my list of campaign contribution recipients.

The MSM makes a great target for dissemination of truth vs lies, leftist propaganda and spin.
They are persistant — even though, for example, the NYT’s circulation has plummeted in the last year, they still don’t get the message that they are no longer trusted as a dependable source for unbiased news by much of their former customer base, and will therefore not even try to change.
Even as we speak, the MSM is further screwing themselves — they are shouting from the rooftops how the Democrat majority is going to usher in major, awesome, spectacular, dazzling, positive change, and what readers/viewers they now enjoy will remember this while wandering around in the wreckage a couple of years down the road.

I read the entire letter over at Atheling’s.
I think I’m still in shock that Jeb Bush would actually reprimand her! Why; is it that everyone in this country seems to have freedom of speech except for patriotic Americans?
I’m very proud of Congresswoman Brown-Waite. She has guts! I just pray to God that she won’t be targeted because of her wonderful courage.

As far as I’m concerned, members of Congress like Brown-Waite walk on water. They are the last remaining true patriots that serve in our government.
As I said, I believe the Bushes have sold us out, they are concentrating on the North American Union as the first step in bringing America into an eventual world govt and could care less about anything short of that. They brown-nose Islam because it will be the fly in the ointment where a world govt is concerned, and refuse to realize that diplomacy and PC where Islam is concerned is a waste of time.

Whenever I try to follow Florida politics, I admit I get somewhat confused. It seems like they spend most of their time chasing after myriad special interest groups and trying to please too many people all at once.
And they also have difficulty in operating the simplest of voting equipment.
I find it refreshing to learn that there is a sensible politician in that state who participates in the governing of America.

I was stationed in Seattle for awhile, but that goes back over 30 years to when there was no skyline to speak of(except the Space Needle) and Democrats were still Democrats, they hadn’t been taken over by aliens, LOL.
Think the pods in Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, only liberals in them instead of aliens.

I actually liked Seattle a lot, I still have some great memories of the place. And I’m one of those strange individuals who actually love a good rain.
I probably wouldn’t recognize the city now.
Back when I was there, one of my favorite hangouts was a bar/pizza eatery in the U District called the Great Green Society.
One of the best chess opponents I’ve ever encountered used to live there, we’ve lost track of each other over the years.
Of course, this was back when “no one” had ever heard of Nancy and Ann Wilson or Billy Gates.

I was not yet 21, and at the Great Green Society I never got carded, LOL. Other than the EM club at Ft. Lawton, another of my regular watering holes, there weren’t many options.
Besides, back then I was not as politically aware as I’ve since become (had someone told me he or she was an anarchist, I probably would have asked, “are you taking something for it?”).

In my long-haired mid teens and later, when I subsequently lived in San Francisco for awhile, I hung out at a coffee house in North Beach that was about the equivalent, at the time, of an old Greenwich Village coffee house.
Heard ‘em, seen ‘em, knew ‘em, wasn’t all that impressed — after growing up and seeing many of them around, I realized that few of them had done the same — grown up, I mean.
With only a few notable exceptions, most such folks went into the epilogue of life as total failures.
