Recent Reply to a Left Thinker

Several days ago, while taking care of a few errands in Manhattan (with the Wolf away, I seem to be spending ‘way too much time on that overcrowded, overpriced, rude people filled island), I somehow got into a conversation with one of those dizzy, New York Times/ CNN/ MSNBC/ Obama/ whatever brainwashed young women one sees in the millions on the streets of Almost Anytown, USA.

I forget exactly how we got into it, I believe it was my mentioning the unconstitutionality of so many things our fearless leaders in Washington have been up toof late, but she made what I thought is one of the most ignorant remarks one hears today:

“The Constitution was written in and for a time where realities were different than they are today.”

“No,” I said, “it was not, and no, today’s realities where the Constitution is concerned were no different than they were when it was written.

The Constitution has nothing to do with and is not affected by technological advancement, increased population/ massive immigration nor any other tangibles… It deals with human nature, which will never change. Regardless of physical changes, scientific breakthroughs, etc, mankind will be mankind and the Constitution, having to deal with governence and the rights of Americans, will always have the same place it always has in the order of all things American.”

I think that pretty well summed that up.

  1. The Gray Monk Says:

Had the young airhead ever actually read it? I would suspect not, all she possibly knows about it is what she’s been fed by her favourite media ‘Talking Head.’

Sadly, such cretins are allowed to vote, some of them more than once in the same election where there is no ID check.

It’s a sad combination here; On one hand the lefty media, on the other an education system dominated by liberals who not only shamelessly propagandize through revisionist history and such, but who also dumb down our youth by teaching them what to think rather than how to form their own educated opinions.

I hate to say it, but we are apparently putting out generations of dumbed down young people who, ala that old “bread and circuses” method, know more about what Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian are up to (and spend their every waking minute staring at their little wireless devices) than they are conversant with Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, the workings of government (including the destructive activities of the current one)or the Constitution. They are more concerned with vanity and self indulgence than they are at what the country is shaping up to be like when they are old enough to be concerned with the economy and the state of their liberty they should today be voting to stave off.

    On a related matter.
