More From The Religion Of Peace
Yesterday in Beirut, a bunch of Muslims demonstrated yet again how they are able to function, collectively and tolerantly, like reasonable human beings.
A mob burned and ransacked the Danish Consulate in Beirut yesterday in anger over newspaper cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad, prompting the interior minister to resign over his inability to prevent the violence.
The rioters, many of them Syrians, also attacked a Maronite church and scuffled with security forces, burning police and army vehicles. The State Department held the Syrian government responsible for similar actions a day earlier in Damascus.
Muslims worldwide are enraged at a series of cartoons that a Danish newspaper ran in September, depicting Muhammad in the company of veiled women and as a terrorist with a bomblike turban. Islam forbids any portrayal of its prophet as idolatry.
Many of yesterday’s protesters arrived in Beirut in buses and carrying flags. They engaged Lebanese security forces in running street fights with rocks and sticks, burning or capturing police and emergency vehicles before storming the Danish Consulate in the majority-Christian neighborhood of Ashrafiyah.
“There is no God but God, and Muhammad is his messenger,” the rioters chanted, smashing their way into the 10-story commercial building and lighting fires that quickly engulfed the structure.
Lovely.
This stuff keeps on happening{in this case, the violence erupted over items published in a Danish newspaper about five months ago} in various countries, then terror supporting organizations such as CAIR react with indignance and wrath when anyone even dares suggest that there might be some violent people in the global Islamic community.
Go figure.
Mark Steyn provides some great related commentary here.

Radical Islam, In Its Own Words
Victor Davis Hanson hits the proverbial nail right on the head in defining the implacable violent intent of Islamofascism through its leaders’ own declarations.
“You will find that the Jews were behind all the civil strife in this world. The Jews are behind the suffering of the nations.”
When and where did that venom come from?
This last May — and out of the hateful mouth of a prominent Palestinian cleric, Sheik Ibrahim Mudeiris. He was broadcast on a Palestinian Authority station.
The televised Sheik finished with an even more frightening thought: “The day will come when everything will be relieved of the Jews — even the stones and trees which were harmed by them…The stones and trees will want the Muslims to finish off every Jew.”
Nothing could be clearer than that promise of another holocaust — and promised explicitly on state-run Palestinian television, a public megaphone of the Palestinian Authority, itself the beneficiary of past and apparently promised future American financial aid.
The entire column is, as always with Hanson, a good and worthwhile read.
Major ten gallon hat tip to Raven.

2003 Annual Islamophobia Awards
Back to that Islamic website again: This time it is to view the “winners” of the Annual Islamophobia Awards presented on 31 May 2003.
Check ‘em out. Bush was the big winner, of course. Tony Blair was a winner also. Go check out the winners. I’m glad I ran across this, because it has confirmed what I thought was the true definition of the term Islamophobic to begin with.
Islamophobic: Any infidel who is opposed to being a) slaughtered by Muslims in the name of Allah, and b) enslaved by a theo-fascist government.
So okay, I guess that makes most of us here in America, with the exceptions of most folks in the Bay Area, of course, Islamophobics. It is, of course, supposed to be an insulting term, implying that were we normal, we would simply submit ourselves to the nearest mosque for instant beheading.
Ohhhhkayyyy….
