Explanation And Apology

I’m dreadfully sorry about my lengthy absence over the last couple of weeks — I would have liked to post several times, but I’ve been quagmired in logistical/preparation/staffing issues for a rather complex offshore project, and coupled with searching for some permanent “digs” here in Manhattan, my time and my mind have been focused on the above.

In a few minutes, I’ll be headed for the airport and thence out of the country for several days, and where I’ll be for the most part there will not likely be Internet access.

Once I’ve returned, I expect that I’ll be able to insert myself into a more regular posting mode (I love blogging, and when circumstances keep me from it, I am not a happy camper).

I thank you, friends, for your indulgence in this and look forward collossally to getting the current work project completed and posting again.

  1. Always On Watch Says:

Thanks for letting us know. I’ve been wondering where you’ve been, Seth!

  2. NH Meri Wido Says:

    Seth, safe journey!

  3. Ken Taylor Says:

Save travels my friend. Go figure you just get used to being back in NYC again and off you go.

BTW do you , “offshore, ” ventures have anything to do with drilling ? Here’s hoping!

Looking forward to your visits and return!

  4. Gayle Says:

Like Ken, I was wondering about the “offshore” activity too, Seth. Verrrrry mysterious! Especially the “no internet access” part. Are you a spy? Now I know that’s a stupid question, because if you are you’re going to tell me you aren’t, and if you aren’t you’re going to tell me you aren’t, so nevermind, just have a great trip and let us know when you return. :)

  5. Shoprat Says:

I too have not had the time I’d like to blog so I understand completely. First things first.

  6. Old Soldier Says:

Awww, come on, Seth; there’s no excuse for not keeping up a blog. Even building a house hasn’t kept me from… errr, wait a minute… scratch the previous!

Be safe in your travels and may the results be prosperous.

    God bless!

  7. MariesTwoCents Says:

    Hope you return soon :-)

    Happy 4th of July Seth

  8. GM Roper Says:

Seth, for however long you are gone, you WILL be welcome back!

  9. Angel Says:

Happy July Fourth to ya and hurry back!:)

  10. Seth Says:

    Thanks, all!

I’m back in N.Y., unfortunately only for a couple of days — I got in last night and have to fly out again after a meeting tomorrow (Monday) morning to hopefully complete my work project.

    AOW –

Hopefully, this will be my last absence for awhile. I still have a lot to do toward getting myself settled in N.Y.

    NH MW –

So far, if not the epitome of “safe”, things have been interesting. :-)

    Ken –

If only they did! We need to drill, drill, drill in the worst way, even many rank-&-file Democrats agree. Now if only their inept, politics-first-and-last politicians would agree!

    Gayle –

Boodles gin, a dash of Cinzano vermouth; Shaken, not stirred, with a twist of lime. ;-)

    Shoprat –

Agreed. Even if I had an Internet connection onsite, there would be very little time to access it. :-(

    Old Soldier –

    LOL.

I’ll merely have the satisfaction of a job well done and the inherent compensation. You, on the other hand, will have the first and will also have the pleasure of an awesome, self built house to remind you daily of the fruits of a great job. :-)

    Marie –

I look forward to completing the job and getting back for good.

Despite being far away and accompanied by folks of mixed nationality, I got a good 4th of July celebration going, including a beach BBQ.

I hope to have things wrapped up by early August, so I can spend my 53rd birthday here in the U.S. of A. where I belong!

    George –

    Thanks.

I read (belatedly, as I am now online for the first time in a couple of weeks or so) and commented on your update, BTW, good show!

    Angel –

I hope to be “finally” back within the next 10 days, if not sooner, barring any complications on the job. :-)

  11. The Gray Monk Says:

Sounds fairly hectic whatever the activity keeping you from blogging - I shall look forward to a resumption of your acerbic commentary on the Washington Polka.

  12. BB-Idaho Says:

Hmm, working on covert stuff for your spy novel? :)

  13. Seth Says:

    Gray Monk –

It’s mostly been lack of any available wireless networks at the project locale.

I’ve been back in N.Y. since the weekend, but am leaving again tonight as I’ve completed some related business here. From what I’ve gathered during the last few days, there will be much to comment upon regarding the ol’ D.C. Polka once I return. :-)

    BB –

The novel (actually, it’s not an espionage novel, at least where the plot is concerned, though there is a bit of related skullduggery afoot) is again on hold for a bit.

Where my incumbent project is concerned, I only wish I could write about it. It has gone from challenging to more challenging and would undoubtedly make for some interesting reading in a Protection Industry journal or perhaps even a short story for an audience interested in such matters. :-)
