Should I Laugh Now…

or wait ’til later?

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Thursday blamed the Republican minority for sinking congressional approval ratings, calling recent poll results “a referendum on Republican obstructionism.” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) blamed President Bush.

Schumer told reporters that Republicans - who earlier this week blocked a Democratic amendment that would have mandated a troop withdrawal from Iraq, and who in June blocked a comprehensive immigration reform bill - are frustrating Americans who are hungry for change.

That is hilarious!

From the time George W. Bush took his first oath of office as President of these here United States, the Democrats have aggressively obstructed his every agenda, with the notable exception of the amnesty bill a couple of weeks ago, a shared interest of the White House and the Democrats. Even now, they’re in hot pursuit of his nominee for Surgeon General, fighting any chance of confirmation tooth and nail — the Surgeon General for G-d’s sake, an almost entirely ceremonial position!

And all this purely in the name of partisan politics, screw the interests, will and even the safety of the American people.

Since winning the Congressional majority, they’ve thrown almost every iota of effort into continuing to attack Bush and the Republican Party, seeking subpoenas and indictments at every turn for invented transgressions, and continuously hammering away at their cut-n-run ambitions for Iraq. Otherwise, they have made little effort to do the job they are payed to do, that of governing the nation.

Now that their chickens have come home to roost in the form of performance poll results that border on a no-confidence vote, they have the chutzpah to whine that the Republicans (and of course Bush, for whom they always save some blame) are “obstructing” them. It’s all the GOP’s (and Bush’s) fault!

They cite two cases:

The Republicans’ steadfast refusal to support the Democrats’ Iraq surrender agenda and the Republicans’ steadfast refusal to grant amnesty to twenty million criminals who are trespassing in our country.

“The American people are demanding change,” Schumer said. “The one thing standing in the way is the Republicans in the Senate.”

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Idiot!

Seth, this post has upset me greatly. To call Schumer an Idiot is a gross disservice.

    To idiots that is. ;-)

  2. Seth Says:

    GM –

You couldn’t be more truthful. :-)

The Dems never take credit for negatives though most are caused by them. Amazing that the lowest polling EVER for Congress falls under their watch but it is everyone elses fault.

Schumer, Reid, Pelosi and the rest have are arrogant and always claim to speak for the American people. If they were then the American people would be favorable and not disgusted!

Aww! The poor wittle democwats are discouwaged. How sad! PHFFFFT! Schumer wouldn’t recognize frustrtated if it bit him in the butt. I’ve had to pray to reduce my level of frustration! God has been removed from our public schools; they try to remove “Merry Christmas” from the English language every year; we must press one for English; we’ve been exposed to traitorous rhetoric from O’Donnel, Sheehan, and many others; Al Gore and Michael Moore (well, enough said about them - gag!);an overnight pajama party pulled by the Dems simply to appease Move On.Org, The Daily Kos and George Sorros; Democrats attempting to undermine our defense capabilities on a daily basis and some of them comparing Bush to Hitler; Chavez selling gas to Americans and using the profits to build weapons to possibly use against us;Ahmadinejad screaming death to America, but many people don’t believe he means it;moonbats not allowing us to drill our own oil or build refineries; Democrats defeating the John Doe Protection Amendment that would have allowed American Citizens to report suspicious behavior without the threat of a possible lawsuit; children being brainwashed in our schools to consider homosexuality and transexuality as normal and sometimes even preferrable behavior… all that’s just the tip of the icerberg!

Schumer says Americans are frustrated but he’s talking about the wrong Americans. We conservatives could write the book on frustration. What a dingbat!

    Ken –

The Dems never take credit for negatives though most are caused by them.

And the MSM runs interference for them, aiding and abetting their pinning their failures on the Republicans.

Thus, the Republicans are forced to fight an uphill battle.

    Gayle –

The Democrats definitely have one hell of a negative resume (based purely upon partisan politics, not the good of the country) don’t they? In a sensible world, that party would have been voted out of existence several years ago by any sensible majority of informed, patriotic voters.

Now they want to usurp our frustration, as well, without actually taking it away. :-(

Good post Seth, and Gayle’s comment has me chuckling too..

Those libs and Dems always have the answer to the worlds and America’s ills don’t they, always blame someone or something else. Comprehensive reform the bass ackwards way brought to us from the left.

Their blame of republicans for the low numbers are like a football team’s starting quarterback blaming the benchwarmer for his interceptions ….makes sense to me not…lol

  7. Seth Says:

    Ray –

    Thanks. :-)

Great analogy — what has long mystefied me is how they can actually get away with their B.S. year after year, without their stable of voters waking up and realizing that their intelligence is being insulted (or that their lack of intelligence is being exploited, take your pick, LOL) as standard Democrat proceedure.

  8. Shoprat Says:

He’s creating a very short-lived Donk majority. They have killed it before it’s 9 mos old.

  9. Seth Says:

    Shoprat –

Hopefully. The Democrats were spewing about all the spectacular things they were going to “accomplish” with their majority, and seem to have reneged across the board — too busy doing the only thing they really know how to do, I suppose: Attack Republicans.

Schumer’s remarks should certainly make apparent the falseness behind this latest Dem whine to all but the deaf, dumb and blind.
