More Warming, Globally Of Course

Yes, of course — and man-made, to boot! At least, if we ignore science and go with Gore, LOL…

Phil Brennan’s got yet another scientific perspective that leaves the alarmists of the left in the Gorehouse.

As a blizzard of snow and ice pummels the Northeast after trouncing the Midwest, and waves of Arctic cold fronts drop much of America below sub freezing weather, the $64,000 question is, Where is Al Gore?

Gore claims that global warming is an immediate problem facing the United States and the world, and places like New York and Chicago could feel like Caribbean haunts.

Yeah, whew! In upstate New York, I understand it’s been freezing hot… Colorado hasn’t fared much warmer of late.

If there is any doubt that God has a sense of humor, it has to be dispelled by a headline in Wednesday’s Drudge Report: “House hearing on ‘warming of the planet’ canceled after ice storm.”

He followed up with this: “Save it for a sunny day: Maryville Univ. in St. Louis area canceling screening of Al Gore’s ‘Inconvenient Truth’ because of a snowstorm.”

What must have evoked the loudest laugh in heaven is the notion that if global warming is really occurring, puny mankind is going to overcome it by legislation and business regulation that would strangle the U.S. economy and be overseen by the super efficient United Nations.

At any rate, the linked article advances still another theory — scientifically derived, rather than politically — as to the causes of temperature change — and again, having nothing to do with anything done by mankind.

The world’s oceans are being heated by underwater tectonic activity — underwater volcanic eruptions and blisteringly hot magma seeping up from cracks in the sea floor.

The heated ocean water creates high levels of CO2 that it sends aloft along with huge amounts of moisture. That moisture becomes precipitation — rain in the spring, summer, and fall, and snow in the winter. Increased amounts of moisture in the upper atmosphere equals increased amounts of precipitation.

The hotter the oceans, the more water vapor sent heavenward and the heavier the precipitation. This explains the large number of record-breaking rainfalls we’ve been seeing in the past couple of years — with as noted above, areas of the United States getting 20 inches of rain in a day or so.

As for that dreaded greenhouse gas, CO2, atmospheric levels of which now exceed 400 parts per million (ppm), it is important to note that paleological records show that every time CO2 levels have exceeded 300 ppm there has been an ice age. Every time — without exception.

The same records show that there have been a series of ice ages over the past 5 million years, naturally occurring every 100,000 years, with about 90,000 years of glaciation followed by about 12,000 years of interglacial climate.

The last ice age ended about 12,000 years ago. Clearly we are in line for the next period of glaciation. But more about that later.

Suffice it to say that unless Al Gore has managed to repeal a demonstrated law of nature, the iceman cometh.

The befuddled Gore keeps blathering about how the oceans are being heated by global warming, instead of the warming being created by the oceans, as the facts clearly show.

Definitely read on…

Amazing how selective their evidence is. I just finished reading a book on PC GW and one example it gave was the Greenland ice mass. GW fanatics claim it is shrinking and use as their proof the reduction in size of the mass. What they do not state is that their , “proof, ” only includes the Northern third of the mass that is shrinking but the Southern two thirds is actually larger which equats to the total mass actually being about 10% larger now , which is larger than it has ever been. For every , “proof, ” they have there are several that debunk it, but they are not interested in facts only scare tactics.

  2. Seth Says:

    Ken –

    Isn’t it insane?

Liberals don’t require proof of anything to make it a political agenda, all that seems to be required is that whatever it is constitutes a menace to the American way of life.

To that end, they ignore facts and replace them with whatever they feel will sell their garbage.

  3. civil truth Says:

Global Warming - Global Freezing; the only thing we know for sure is that climate is not static and is going to change one way or another.

The same rules still apply, though: extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and the GW zealots haven’t complied enough yet. Not to mention that the proposed solutions have even less evidence to support their alleged outcomes, especially when we delve into the softer sciences of economics, political science, and the psychology of group behavior, to mention a few.

So when you scratch below the surface, what you find is displaced religiosity, complete with jihad to feel like you’re doing some good in the world fighting the forces of darkness (transmuted into Big Oil, Dick Cheney, and those evil GW deniers. Righteousness is so intoxicating…

  4. Shoprat Says:

And some say that global warming is responsible for the freezing cold.

Oh well. You can’t win arguements with them.

You have to convince the fence sitters.

  5. Gayle Says:

I love it! A Global Warming conference cancelled because of an ice storm! Does it get any more delicious than that? :)

  6. Seth Says:

    Civil Truth –

No disagreement there. Liberals rarely require evidence where something can just as easily be assumed to their advantage.

    Shoprat –

About five years ago, a commenter at a blog I used to frequent summed it up perfectly: Arguing with a liberal is like standing in a bucket and trying to pull yourself up by the handle.

    Gayle –

It seems to happen on a regular basis, LOL. Wasn’t a Gore Global Warming symposium held in New York last winter on a day that turned out to be majorly freezing?

  7. BB-Idaho Says:

IMHO, the problem with climate change is that Al Gore appears to have
    studied rhetoric/declamation under Ben Stein.

  8. Seth Says:

    BB –

    ROTFLMAO!!!!

I love the examples you employ to compare the actions of Democrats with “like” actions of Republicans.

The relevant difference, as applies here, between Ben Stein and Algore (in fact, between Democrats/liberals and Conservatives/Republicans in general) is that Stein at least provides a basis for his arguments, whereas Gore’s “man made global warming” rhetoric has yet to be supported by a single viable link between the two.

Having read numerous different articles, posts, etc re GW, I have yet to see anything more than unproven statements that there is a connection between man and climate change. They always seem to skip directly from some feeble evidence that our climate is heating up, or laying the blame for Katrina on GW, to man’s alleged involvement in the whole kerfuffle. Thus, they see the usual “blame Bush” conduit, since the President refused to sacrifice our economy on the altar of unproven, politically motivated pseudo-science ala Kyoto.

For that matter, the weather itself seems to be arguing rather convincingly against the very existence of any significant degree of “global warming”.

  9. MariesTwoCents Says:

    Al Gore can bite me!

  10. Always On Watch Says:

The left is always selective with the evidence they cite. Otherwise, their arguments would have no logic!

    Excellent posting, Seth!

  11. Seth Says:

    Marie –

If he does, make sure you get shots immediately. We wouldn’t want to see you catch leftism!

    AOW –

    Thanks.

Even then, their evidence is only made into “logic” by the propagandizing of the MSM. :-)

  12. Old Soldier Says:

Seth, while driving back home yesterday, I listened to some of the Neal Boortz radio show. GW was a topic of discussion and a fact that Boortz referenced was that according to satellite measurements the Earth’s surface temperature has not changed so much as one degree in the past seven years. Boortz also sited that the temperatures of the 1930’s were hotter than today, and (of course) there was less humans, less fossil fuel consumptions, less industry, etc. etc.

GW is politics plain and simple. Science is repeatable phenomenon – the key there is “repeatable.”

In Gore’s case; crap in – crap out!

  13. Seth Says:

    Old Soldier –

What really disturbs me about the entire GW issue is that Gore and his fellow travellers of the MSM and the rest of the liberal/ left contingent have actually managed to succeed in running this scam to the point that it’s considered a valid issue by the American public.

It’s amazing how easy it is for people in a position of trust, who substitute a political agenda for any semblance of love of country or concern for their fellow citizens, to mislead so much of the population in order to realize that agenda.

  14. Old Soldier Says:

algore is practicing the Goebbel doctrine… say it loud and long and people will believe. Shame on gore and shame on those who believe him!

  15. Seth Says:

    Old Soldier –

It really is pitiful. I’ve even seen a TV commercial that seems to be geared toward children with a scare message about global warming. Apparently one of the primary requisites for being a Democrat is possessing a total lack of shame.

  16. Gayle Says:

“Gorehouse!” ROTFALMAO! How in the world did I miss that the first time I read it?

Definition of a Gorehouse: A place where you can get screwed for free! ;)

  17. Seth Says:

    Gayle –

One has to shudder at the thought of where our economy and national security would be today had Madame Al won the 2000 election. Between the inevitable increased taxes of a liberal administration, (vs the Bush tax cuts), the Clintonian legacy which would have included the continued poor excuse for homeland security that allowed 9/11 to happen, acceptance of terrorism rather than a war on terror and the adoption of the Kyoto accords, we would be in really bad shape, just as the Democrats apparently want this country to be.

Thank G-d common sense still prevailed in Nov’s 2000 and 2004, if not Nov 2006.

  18. Shoprat Says:

Since I understand that the warming peaked in 1998 and has been coming down since, what are they going to say when their lies are obvious?

  19. Gayle Says:

I know, Seth. Al Gore having won the presidency is the thing nightmares are made of!

Shoprat, they’ll say it wasn’t their fault; it was caused by global warming. See, their reasoning doesn’t have to be reasonable. If it did this thing wouldn’t have gotten of the ground to begin with.

  20. ABF Says:

Were very slowly starting to win this battle up here. It’s been a heck of a fight, but it seems all the bloggers, and the cold weather, has out screamed the MSM constant pounding. Guess we’ll know in the next election, which is porbably soon, as three of the parties up here make it a banner issue to shut Alberta down and demonize the US.

  21. Seth Says:

    AB –

It’s definitely nice to have nature weighing in on the right side, LOL. It must be kinda’ sorta’ difficult to argue global warming in the middle of an ice storm. :-)

I’m glad you folks are making some progress up there in the Great White North.

Down here, we could be covered in 100 feet of glacier from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico and Algore would be standing on top, blathering about global warming while the MSM published his every word as gospel.

  22. Seth Says:

    Shoprat –

They’ll do the usual liberal thing: Lie.

They’ll ignore any real scientific data and just continue flogging the same dead horse as if the true facts didn’t exist.

  23. Seth Says:

    Gayle –

Then again, they might also do that: Blame it on Global Warming, and therefore Bush. :-)
